There has been coffee production in Novi, Michigan for over 100 years. The first coffee beans were grown on a small parcel of land near the present-day city limits in 1892. In 1916, the Novi Coffee Company was founded by Mr. and Mrs. George Peake and their families. Over time, the company became known for its high quality coffee products and its dedication to sustainable practices. In 1957, the Novi Coffee Company merged with the Detroit Coffee Corporation to form the Detroit–Novi Coffee Corporation (DNC). Today, DNC is one of North America's leading producers of premium coffee and tea products. Novi, Michigan was the first town in U.S. to receive coffee from Africa. In 1880, a Dutchman named Cornelis van der Laan founded a small plantation near Novi with the goal of exporting coffee to Europe. The first shipment of beans arrived in 1881 and the townspeople began enjoying their new drink.

Novi is a small town in Macomb County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Detroit metropolitan area. The community was founded in 1887 by farmers who followed an Indian Trail through what is now Novi Township and opened up a local grocery store. By 1908, the first school had been built and the first post office was opened. The community became known for its production of cornmeal and flour until World War II when it turned to automotive manufacturing due to lack of other resources. Novi's largest employer during that time was Ford Motor Company which manufactured automobiles in Novi from 1916 until 1957 when it closed its doors permanently after years of economic decline. During the 1920s, Novi also developed into a center for agricultural research with several farms close by becoming part of University of Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station (UMAS). In 1964, UMAS merged with Michigan State University to form Wayne State University and since then there has been significant growth in both research staff and students at Wayne State University as well as continued growth in industry within the township boundaries where more than 50 companies have located over the past three decades including Ford Motor Company once again producing vehicles here!

Novi was founded in 1837 by Nicholas de Tocqueville, who was on his way to becoming the first U.S. Ambassador to France. The town became a post office in 1849 and soon started developing into a small agricultural community. In 1870, the Novi Township was formed and rapidly developed as a center for heavy industry in the region. By 1910, however, Novi had declined in importance as an industrial center and experienced declines in population and jobs throughout the 1920s and 1930s. However, during World War II, Novi began to experience growth due to its proximity to military installations and its ability to provide goods needed for war production. By 1945, however, Novi had become relatively smaller and less prominent than other Michigan towns due to falling manufacturing sectors and decreasing economic opportunities. Despite this decline, however, Novi is still one of the most significant communities in Michigan history with its rich history that has been shaped by its location within close proximity to major industries and military sites during both peacetime (1837-1910) as well as wartime (1946-1945).

Novi was founded in 1871 by George W. Novick and J.H. Smith as a small village on the east side of the Ottawa River. The town rapidly grew and in 1883, it became a city with a population of over 10,000 people. In 1912, Novi merged with neighboring Orion Township to form one large community. The merger created many new businesses and industries which continue to thrive today. In 1959, Novi became an incorporated city with its own police department and fire department.
