In 1892, Wixom was founded as a small town in the heart of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. It became an important center for coffee production and marketing, and its coffee beans were exported to various parts of the world. In 1933, Wixom was renamed after Gustavus Adolphus Wixom, the first governor of Michigan. The town continues to produce high-quality coffee today.

The 2013 estimate placed the population at 106,822 due to growth in the nearby village of Wixom Township and other suburban areas. There are also large concentrations of defense contractors (such as Lockheed Martin) and white-collar workers (such as law enforcement officers). Wixom's history dates back to 1847 when General David Dixon settled on land east of present-day downtown Wixom with his family. Dixon named his settlement "Wixon" after Major George Washington Dixon who had helped lead American forces during the War of 1812. In 1868, Wixon was incorporated as a town by an act of the Michigan Legislature; it became an independent city on December 15, 1974 by resolution from then-Mayor Emery Kulp along with then-Councilman Rick Fenton and Wayne County Administrator Dorothy Weisbourns. The first post office in Wixom opened in 1875; it closed two years later because no one wanted to deliver mail to a town that had no residents. The first store in downtown Wixom opened in 1885 under business name "The merchants store." By 1911, local physician Drury Halsey had built what would become known as Halsey Hospital which remain operational until it closed its doors in 1990 due to financial problems caused by competition from larger hospitals throughout Michigan at that time. At that time much medical equipment including cardiac surgery machines were still being transported across country on railroad cars! When word spread about this problem Halsey set up shop inside his hospital until he could find another place to do business! The original building now stands vacant next door to current day's bank building which was constructed around 1909/10 on what is now Ivey Street just west of Main Street - also known locally as Fourth Avenue! In 1915 Drury Halsey donated land east of Main Street for use as Loop Park - today part of North Campus at Wayne State University – which remains open today despite numerous attempts over many years by developers to demolish or change its character without consent from Drury himself! One current notable featureof Loop Park is its 12 foot tall statue honoring Drury Halsey located near intersection Third Avenue & Main Street between Loop Road & First Avenue! It should be noted that while most people know all aboutDruryHalsey’s donation(especially Loop Park), very little is actually known about Mayor Emery Kulp’s role(or lack thereof)in regard thereto ! In 1922 Detroit Pistons owner James Auerbach moved his team from Cleveland Ohio to Flint Michigan so he could control their training ground which led directly into creating more than just some basketball players but also future stars like Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Julius Erving !!!!! From here on out things got even crazier wacky names like "The Great Lakes Arena" etc... finally settling down into our current moniker: The Palace Of Auburn Hills (Formerly The Joe Louis Arena)... before moving back home again!! ...continue reading

In the 1830s, coffee was brought overland from Africa by traders and settlers, and it was not until 1855 that Dutch Americans founded a café in New York City that served ground beans sourced from small farmer saddlebags. In 1906, George Peet opened his first café in Vancouver, British Columbia, which became the first commercially viable chain of specialty cafes. By 1930, some sixty percent of all U.S. roasted coffee came from bean farms managed by artisans like Peet and Bob Evans. The rise of mass-produced coffees began during World War II when Coffee Roasters Inc., a single-storey building at 1 Broadway in Manhattan's Financial District become the world's largest producer of dark roast coffee for grocery store customers (now known as Starbucks). During this time, small farmers were displaced by large commercial producers who substituted lower quality beans for more expensive Arabica beans grown in drier climates around the world. Between 1945 and 1970, American production declined 30 percent while global production increased 153 percent; however, these effects largely disappeared during the Reagan years when large multinational corporations took over most major roasteries (although smaller growers continued to produce high quality beans). In recent years there has been an increase in artisanalroasted coffees as well as nonstandard blends containing different origins or processed oils than those typically found on supermarket shelves. Many fine cafes now offer both organic and Non-GMO products made through smallholder farming methods with attention paid to flavor composition and texture properties unique to individual varietals such as Ethiopian Yirgacheffe or Colombian Viognier! One trend that has emerged recently is "Three Bean" cafés—cafes where three criteria are met: espresso prepared using whole bean instead of ground cafés; chocolate milk poured into one or two cups brewed with whole bean grounds only; iced tea served cold with either whole bean grounds or hot water drawn directly from ice cubes made from local fruit! These unusual designs allow for exploration into new flavors combinations not possible at larger chains where standardized recipes preclude experimentation.

The city was founded in 1837 by John Wixom and his wife Anne Wright as a small village called "Wixom". In 1848, it became an independent town and was renamed "Wixom", after its founder. As Wixom grew, it annexed other villages until it had a total population of over 50 residents in 1870. In 1903, Wixom merged with neighboring Tecumseh to form the new City of Saginaw which still exists today as an unincorporated community within Saginaw County. In 1927, Wixom-Tecumseh amalgamated with Midland to form Midland–Wixom Township which still exists today as an unincorporated community within Midland County. In 1946, Wixom-Midland merged with Huron Heights to form Huron Heights–Wixon Township which also still exists today as an unincorporated community within Midland County. On July 1, 2007, Wixon Township joined Saginaw County from Wayne County effective date TBD and thus made up for lost territory when that county disbanded on June 30th due to low voter turnout during their special election process that year having only 7 members instead of the mandated 10%.
