This recipe utilized ground beans that had been soaked in hot water overnight before being roasted over an open fire or baked in an oven. By 1830, Dutch traders were importing large quantities of Italian espresso beans so they started calling this type “Dutch Coffee” which gave it its present name today (Espresso). Throughout most of history however, Europeans didn’t really understand how bean-to-bar brewing works so they would just put whole pods into their machines which resulted in higher bitterness levels and poorer flavor profiles than what we enjoy today at home. This changed with the introduction of vacuum sealed machines in the early 1800s which allowed brewers worldwide to produce better quality cups with fewer harmonic notes (a term usually used describe bitter taste found in lower grades espresso). Horn Lake is located in Jackson County, Mississippi, about 25 miles east of Gulfport. The name comes from the 1836 Treaty of Prairie du Chien between the United States and Great Britain, which named the lake after General John C. Forbes, who served as Indian Agent at Prairie du Chien. In 1868, the US$1 million dollar donation by Andrew W. Mellon to create Lake Missisippi was made available for use by American farmers in Horn Lake Township in Jackson County. Many of these early settlers were German immigrants who had come to Mississippi during the 1840s and 1850s to work on cotton plantations. The town of Horn Lake was founded in 1895 by Danish immigrants, who named their community after a small island near their farmstead on Horseshoe Bend Creek. During World War II, most alluvial soil along both banks of the creek was mined for munitions production; this left deep scars on both banks of the creek which have been visible since then. The first permanent settler in Horn Lake Township was George Fenton, who arrived in 1865 from Illinois with his family. His son Julius Fenton established a grocery store and bakery there before moving his business to Greenville in 1871. Another early settler was John Schmidgall, who arrived with his family from Germany around 1870 and soon became involved in local politics; he served as mayor from 1890-1892 and 1893-1895 and also helped found what is now called "the First Church of Christ" (now known as First Baptist) in Horn Lake Township; Schmidgall is buried at nearby Holy Cross Cemetery. The township's first school opened for students in 1892; it was operated by private citizens until 1915 when it became part of the Gulfport School District; today it is known as Oakland Elementary School. A post office was established at Horn Lake Township on April 5, 1898; it continued operation until discontinued operations on October 20th, 1951 under U S Postal Service regulations that required post offices serving rural areas to close within six months if not replaced by an equivalent facility closer to where mail traffic originated. A fire destroyed much of downtown Gulfport during a severe thunderstorm on May 3rd 1899; due to damage done by flames and drifting embers, only one building remained standing after almost two hours efforts to put out the blaze - this structure still stands today (along with several other buildings damaged or destroyed during that storm). The damage done by that fire led many employers throughout Gulfport closed down for several weeks while they rebuilt their businesses - some lasting up TO THREE YEARS! In 1905 Hurricane Hattie struck southeast Mississippi killing dozens statewide including eleven people living near Gulfport proper including four children aged three years old or younger! Hattie caused extensive damage across much of southern Mississippi including $5 million worth crops lost or destroyed! Despite beingCategory 5 hurricane status when making landfall late Friday night into Saturday morning just prior to landfall points such as Biloxi Bayou & coastal area resulted total destruction amounting $2 million cash value loss livestock losses water main breaks power outages occurred-> resulting 10% death toll statewide some 150000 human beings affected&in addition approximately One Hundred thousand dollars value/loss sustained directly/$30 Million Dollars direct economic damages
