Meridian was founded in 1892 by white settlers and named for Meridian Hill on the nearby river. The first store in Meridian was built by Wm. Henson and his brother-in-law John Epps on State Street in 1892. In 1926, Meridian became one of the townships within Jackson County and was renamed to Meridian after its location on the east bank of the Missisippi River. The population growth in Meridian has been steady since its incorporation as a town, with only 1% growth reported from 2000 to 2010. Meridian is located at . As of the census of 2010, there were 6,811 people living in gentrified zip codes - those that have been replaced with housing developments or other forms of development over time (not including unincorporated areas). AirForce gift history goes back to the very beginning of the USAF when the USAF was founded in 1947. The USAF had a specific goal and purpose, which was to be a premier airpower force. One of the first things that occurred during the early days of Air Force organization was the selection and placement of aircraft for use by Air Force pilots. This process began withBu No. 1, which served as Headquarters squadron headquarters for all fighter squadrons located within USAAF territory at that time. The Bu No. 1 Policy Statement stated “No unit may accept any gift from any other organization” This policy stemmed from World War II where United States forces were engaged in combat against Nazi Germany and its allies while others - like Great Britain - were providing support through economic sanctions and military supplies. In order to help ensure American victory, it was paramount that no individual or group should have an undue advantage over potential adversaries either politically or financially. In 1953, General Curtis LeMay became Chief of Staff and he issued guidance on how gifts would be accepted by the USAF so as not to offend other organizations or individuals who may have given items or money to Air Force units in an attempt to curry favor with our nation’s leaders. It wasn't until after LeMay's death in 1969 that major changes were made within Air Force Gift History Section responsible for handling gifts received from foreign entities such as embassies, heads of state (or their representatives), business conglomerates, etc.. These changes came about due to possible attempts by these groups to gain preferential treatment when it came time for Gifts To Be Paid For (GTP) transactions between airmen/units and their respective governing body(ies). At this point there existed a system where individuals within each Wing/ Squadron reported directly into Headquarters Squadron upon receipt of a gift accompanied by appropriate documentation (e-mailed invoice included). Once all necessary paperwork had been filed I then took possession of the item(s) pending payment via GTP transfer request form developed specifically for this purpose along with attached payment instructions which could only be filled out if required funds had already been deposited into my account! Thereafter Major John Logue became charge d'affaires at Embassy/Headquarters level responsible for handling requests related to gifts received from foreign entities both domestically AND abroad! Needless to sayMajor Logue quickly got used TO handing outAIRMANS GIFT HISTORY REQUESTS...lol

Meridian is a town in Meridian County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 1,752 at the 2010 census. It has been the county seat of Meridian since 1867. The community of Meridian was founded by three men who had come to the area looking for land to farm: John Steuart in 1824; Elias Howe in 1830; and Amos Kendall in 1835. They named their community after General James K. Polk's flagship ship "Meridian" which had passed through the area on its way from Mobile Bay to New Orleans during the American Civil War. The town was platted in 1837 by Captain David Ladd, a member of the first Meridian Township Commission and later an officer with honors in both the Confederate and Union armies. In 1865, when Mississippi became a state, Meridian became its capital and remains so today. In that year, Congress created a new county within Meridian County - Stroud County - which included much of what is now Meridian Township including most of present-day downtown (although some structures date back to before that time). The townships surrounding what are now Downtown Meridian were not added to Stroud County but remained unincorporated until they were annexed by Meridian in 1907 as part of a larger move throughout rural Mississippi into metropolitanixie under Governor George Wallace's initiatives known as Plan B. In 1916, while Mayor Averill Harriman supervised construction on what would become Harriman International Airport just north of Downtown Junction ( meridianAviationStores/Library), he noticed that there wasn't any business or housing near it other than small businesses operating out-of-the-way from main thoroughfares such as Delta Airlines' terminals at departures and arrivals areas on Southeastern Drive (now US 72). He ordered city fathers to start building blocks that would be Taxi Cab lots facing runway approaches so commercial passengers could park their cars nearby for takeoffs and landings without having them towed away during traffic congestion caused by passenger jet operations at Jackson Municipal Airport east of Jackson City limits at this time! This initiative led directly to downtown being reborn as one continuous mixed use district with restaurants/stores/bars clustered around terminals buildings providing access from all directions onto two large concourses flanked by Arrivals/Departures areas serving Delta Airlines terminals located adjacent to each other on one side only making it possible for commuters flying intoJacksonCitylimitsto walk between these two airports rather then have their cars impounded while they waited FOR THEIR AIRCRAFT TO ARRIVE!
Meridian was founded by James Fenton in 1819 as a trading post on the Red River. The town grew rapidly, and by 1832 it had a population of 1,500. In 1835 Meridian was named after Sir John A. Meridian, governor of Louisiana from 1829 to 1830. The town became an important cotton center during the antebellum period, and its cotton mills were among the largest in Mississippi. In 1861, when Confederate forces invaded Mississippi, Meridian joined the Confederacy andSoon thereafter it fell to Union forces. After the war ended in 1865, Meridian reverted to Union control and slowly declined into poverty until it was abandoned in 1969. It has been restored as a ghost town since then.
