Grandview was platted in 1872 and named for Amherst Grant Grandview, an early settler. The first post office in Grandview was established in 1876. The community was original named "Natchez". In 1886, it was renamed "Hancock" after Ulysses S. Grant, then the 25th President of the United States. According to the 2010 census, Grandview has a total area of , all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 812 people residing in Grandview; however, by 2008 that number had increased to 1125 residents due to development within the town limits since 2000. According to the 2010 census report from Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division 9-1-2 Traffic Services Section: "As of 2009 (the latest data available), there are no real changes occurring as a result of construction or other projects taking place on Hwy 66 between Nixa and Carthage (64 miles north) & I-435 (74 miles south)", this indicates that although much progress has been made within town limits over that time period - with housing developments encroaching upon agricultural land - no major accidents or crimes have taken place recently which could lead to increases in traffic usage or congestion on Hwy 66

Grandview was a town in Randolph County, Missouri, United States. The population was 525 at the 2010 census. The town was in Union Township until it became part of St. Louis County in 1912. The first settler in what is now Grandview was John Stevenson, who arrived in 1826. He and his family were the first white people to live there. Other early settlers included Isaac Slaton and Alexander McKay. The first store on the site of Grandview was established by James Tryon in 1837. Tryon operated a store on Main Street for several years before moving to what is now northbound US-127 and southbound Kansas Avenue. In 1839, Tryon's son-in-law, David Clements bought the store from him and continued to operate it until he died in 1865; after which it passed through several hands until it finally came into the hands of Halsey & Waddell (later Halsey Bros.) who operated it from 1870 to 1880; then J S Goodloe took over from them and ran it until his death in 1906. Goodloe had been born in Grandview about 1840; he had married Catharine Smith Preston of Randolph County when she was sixteen years old, and they had five children: Daniel Goodloe (1868–1934), Margaret Goodloe (1870–1968), Halsey Bros.: John Sloan Goodloe (1872–1948), ArthurGoodloe (1874–1966), and IreneGoodloe Rutledge (1876–1960).
