Today, NAS Jacksonville is home to Naval Air Station Cairo (formerly JS Lakeland) which provides training operations for maritime pilots and aircrew members of UH-1H helicopters; USS Theodore Roosevelt Museum which preserves presidential artifacts related to naval warfare; and USS Missouri Museum which contains memorabilia from both Missouri’s statehood throughout the 19th century and Operation Neptune’s Spear –the first amphibious assault against Japanese forces onshore in World War II!
