In 2007, KSU transferred its operations to an all-campus system named Shawnee State University which included the university's main campus in Shawnee Heights, Kansas and satellite campuses located at Topeka (Kansas) and Manhattan (Kansas). In 1957, United States Supreme Court Justice Earl Warren delivered his famous speech "The Miseducation Of America" at Northern Illinois University in Carbondale IL which urged colleges to offer more opportunities for womens' studies as well as racial integration. During his address he quoted from John Dewey's " Educational Creed". He also said that "the time has come for American universities to take their place among world Universities."
