The first church was consecrated in 1892 and replaced an earlier wooden building that had been destroyed by a tornado two years earlier. The second church, which was built on land donated by John Atherton (founder of Atherton Plumbing), opened in 1903 and served as the town's main worship facility for almost fifty years until it burned down in 1949. Both churches were rebuilt using local materials and labor with help from local businesses who donated their time and money for the project. In 2002, both churches were listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of Bellevue's historic district. Today, First Presbyterian Church functions as a museum while Third Presbyterian Church serves as a community center.
Bellevue has also long been known for its wide variety of arts & crafts demonstrations which are typically held at various local businesses or locations throughout town during late autumn or early winter months. These demonstrations are often followed by live music performances from local bands
