The Kearney, Nebraska Air Force deployed gift history to the town of Kearney in 2003. The gift history was started by retired Colonel Tom Knopp with a presentation of an American-made model A-10 Warthog Squadron aircraft. The Knopps continue to present gift history throughout the community each year. Kearney is located in the central Great Plains region of Nebraska and is home to two military installations: Mountain Home AFB and Omaha Army Air Field. These military installations are responsible for providing air support for both local police and militia operations as well as conducting combat exercises outside of Nebraska. The Knopps have been active in the community since 1973 when they donated their home to serve as a fundraiser for the Community Service Organization (CSO). CSO works with local schools to provide out door playgrounds, after school programs, birthday parties, and other events that need money but don’t have enough money from corporate sponsorships or donations from individuals. In 2003, Col Tom Knopp presented an American-made A-10 Warthog Squadron aircraft at a presentation called “A Wing History – The Story of our favorite plane” which was held at Mountain Home AFB on Saturday October 8th. This event served as a reminder that Kearney is home to two separate military installations that house detachments from all over America that come together during performance tasks such as hosting flyovers or participating in training maneuvers outside of Nebraska. Kearney has had its share of famous residents over the years such as Neil Armstrong who lived there while he was stationed at MAF before landing his first lunar mission; General George Custer who fought at Little Big Horn near Kearney; Admiral Chester Nimitz who commanded US Pacific Fleet during World War II; Governor Dave Heineman who announced plans for construction of Ironton Reservoir; Major League Baseball player Nolan Ryan SR.; and many more!
The United States Air Force deployed a gift to its allies in the form of over sixty thousand individual items, including new planes, helicopters and missiles. The gift was intended as a show of appreciation for their support during Operation Inherent Resolve, the campaign against ISIL. The airborne gifts were sent into Iraq and Syria on two different occasions. The first deployments took place on October 5th and 6th, and the second deployment took place on November 3rd. Each deployment had an allotted amount of items which had to be delivered by air. The deliveries were made using C-17 Globemaster III aircraft from Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State. The items that were sent were: fighter jets, bombers and tactical ballistic missiles. The fighter jets included F-15E Strike Eagle fighters, F/A-18C Hornets and MQ-9 Reaper drones; bombers included Boeing 747s with provision for twelve Hellfire missiles each; tactical ballistic missiles included B61 nuclear weapons systems and Tomahawk cruise missile launchers. The gifts have been very well received by the allies who are grateful for them. Many have stated that they enjoy using these new tools more than ever before, while others have expressed their excitement at being able to share these experiences with friends and family back home.

Kearney is a town in Kearney County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 1,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Omaha metropolitan area. Kearney is known for its Butter beans, cornmeal mush and other local dishes. The town was founded by Swedish immigrants in 1868. In 1893, it became a US post office with ZIP code 68102. The construction of I-80 destroyed much of the grain production within easy driving distance of Kearney so agricultural production began to decline; however, some residents continue to produce grains for local markets today as a way to supplemental income. Kearney's butter beans are world renowned due to their unique sauce made from milk that has been boiled down until it thickens into a consistency similar to cream cheese but without any sugar added or evaporated milk products which gives it an acquired taste (although they can be made without any milk if desired). They are also famous for their cornmeal mush which is made from ground corn and water mixed together until just thick enough for soup or porridge formality restaurants use as their standard dish (though variations exist such as adding fresh ginger or diced onion). Kansas City based companies have brought attention to these dishes over the years making them available throughout North America on various occasions including appearances at Chicago’s giant McCormick & Company plant where they were featured on two consecutive days during National Corn Day Weekend as part of an advertising campaign by Quaker Oats/ KelloggCo.; likewise twice per year at Iowa State Fairgrounds where they serve up a variety of soup and chili versions along with several souvenir cups containing free samples!

The gift history was composed of three items: a plaque, an Air Force helmet and a Star-Spangled Banner patch. The plaque reads "May 5, 1969 - July 15, 2013." The Air Force helmet was made to commemorate the first manned mission to land on the moon and return safely back to Earth on July 15, 1969. The patch is created from American flags that have been sewn together with blue thread and star-spangled banner fabric. It features artwork depicting U2 frontman Bono holding up one of the American flags while another American flag flutters behind him.

There are also numerous residential properties scattered throughout the town center that offer both rental opportunities as well as ownership opportunities to those looking to live within walking distance of all that Kearney has to offer.
