Concord, New Hampshire is a town in Butte County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 9,873 at the 2010 census. Concord is the county seat of Butte County. It lies on the border of buttes of Mount Sunapee and Mount Lemmon andclose to the Vermont state line. According to the US Census Bureau, Concord has a total area of 26 square miles (77 square kilometers). The first inhabitants of what is now Concord were Native Americans who lived near where the village now stands. The region was first settled by English farmers in 1620 as part of an effort to open up land for farming. In 1803, when Massachusetts became a U.S. state, Butte County was added to New Hampshire and Concord became its county seat. The village formed from parts of three other towns- Northborough (now Arlington), Southborough (formerly Haverhill) and Winchendon- in 1838 when these seven towns combined to form one political entity called "Concord". In 1847, John Hunt came into possession of what are now known as Hunt's Farmsteads after his father Phebe Hunt sold him some land including what are now Huntingdon Pond and Center Road in the town center; this property lay just east of present day Middle School Road across from Old Post Office Square on Main Street which then extended south into Green Valley Cemetery before turning eastward along Center Road past present day Union Chapel into Newton Centre Cemetery before terminating at Panther Hill Road just inside modern day Randolph Hall bordersparking lot/roadside diner/grocery store complex that until recently housed an old feed mill building which served as both library and meeting hall prior to being renovated for housing development in 2006-2007 by NH Historic Preservation Authority which included moving west two storefronts from original location within restaurant lot across street from current office buildings located on north side lots currently used for storage related surface parking only .
