The Manchester Air Force Station was the first air force station in New Hampshire. It opened on November 27, 1941 and served as a base for the United StatesAAF Ninth Air Force. The Ninth Air Force was based at this airfield until it was disbanded in 1945. The airfield was then used by the USAAF Eighth Air Force until its disbanding in 1946. The Eighth Air Force occupied this airfield from 1946 to 1959 when it moved to Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina. In 1959, the Eighth AF moved back to Manchester and continued to use the airport as an adjunct of Seymour Johnson AFB until it closed in May 1966.
Manchester is a town in New Hampshire, United States. The population was 24,814 as of the 2010 census. Manchester is the county seat of Manchester County. It lies on the border of Merrimack and Hampshire counties, east of Goffstown and west of Lebanon. The first European settlement in what is now Manchester came about in 1620 when English traders landed at present-day Portsmouth and founded a trading post known as "Nessus" on an island in the Merrimack River. In 1786, General John Sullivan made his way through Manchester to raid British settlements in Canada; he named one spot after General George Washington—today's Downtown Streetside Park—in recognition of the Patriot's role during the American Revolution. In 1824, Manchester became part of New Hampshire when it was split from neighboring southern Lancaster County. At that time, there were only nine white people living in town proper; by 1830, there were over 100 residents and 30 businesses. Today’s downtown area dates back to this period with several Victorian-era homes still standing among commercial buildings dating back to before World War II. During much of its history as a small town nucleus around a core business district (the heartland),Manchester experienced rapid growth due not just to its own natural resources but also because Manhattans annexation into larger towns created more jobs for local residents who could commute out to work outside the city center or even outside NH altogether (an event which helped spur development along Route 19). In 1958, when NH addedMerrimack Valley to its borders making it again an inner-city suburb with limited access by northbound drivers going throughNHgateway cities like Concord or Nashua; however this rapid suburbanization did not last long as many manhattansburgers chose instead to move into Durham/Fayetteville suburbs feeding off NHDowntown jobs and traffic patterns while remaining close enough within their own neighborhoods for socializing and day trips without havingto drive far away either

During this time, Northrop Grumman corporation donated numerous aircraft to America such as the F-15 Eagle Fighter Jet, F-16 Fighting Falcon Jet Fighter Aircraft and B-2 Spirit Bomber Aircraft. Additionally, Northrop Grumman corporation donated millions of dollars in research funding to American universities including UCLA (Lugar University), MIT ( norwood university) and Johns Hopkins University (Johns Hopkins University). Finally, in 1998, Northrop Grumman corporation donated a Boeing 757 Airliner airplane to be used by US Airways for charter flights across international boundaries. Today, both America's aerospace industry and its citizens are grateful for all that Northrop Grumman Corporation has done for them over the years. Since 1954 when they gave away their first donation of an airforce related item or device to another country - it has been an indicator of how much these two companies have cared about one another. And there is no doubt that withoutNorthrop Grumman corporations support - many airports throughout America would not be able to function at their full capacity today!
