The first permanent structure for the New Hampshire National Guard was erected in 1861 at what is now State House Square. Nashua, New Hampshire is a town in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 6,598 at the 2010 census. Nashua is part of the Manchester-by-the-Sea Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Nashua was Captain James Bradley who arrived in 1768 and built a small hut on what are now Main Street and Asylum Road. In 1772, he married Anne Hull of Boston and they started a small farm near the present day Nashua depot. They were joined by their children within 2 years of each other and soon started growing crops, raising livestock, and trading with nearby settlements for goods such as lead ore from Labrador Mines and salt meat from Great Britain. In 1800 John Green bought 3 acres (1 km²) of land south of the river for $10USD which became known as Green's Hill because it was the tallest point on that side of the river. This site would eventually become home to many businesses including Bookers Mfg., Button & Adams store (now Macy's), Post Office (now US Bank), Nashua Hotel (now Jardin Place Bed & Breakfast), NH State House (later renamed State House Annex), Green's Tavern restaurant/lounge (later changed to The Inn at First Landing Resort) and more recently First Landing Resort casino hotel. Captain James Bradley's descendants continued to live in Nashua until 1892 when they all moved to Easton because their land had been sold off to make way for railroad tracks. After living there for just over a decade they returned to Nashua where they spent the rest of their days farming until their death in 1907. Annie Bradley married again after her first husband died but this second marriage ended in divorce due to differences over territory ownership among his children - one daughter lived with her father until his death while another sister stayed with her mother until she too divorced him). Their third child also remained living with them until his death in 1906 when he too passed away without leaving any heirs behind which caused some members of his family to move back into town so that he could be buried there close to them instead of being scattered throughout different farms across New England He donated much or most of his personal belongings including tools, implements, furniture etc., some still reside today at The Inn at First Landing Resort Casino hotel next door
