In 1916, pioneer John Smeaton founded what would become Pecos Coffee Company. At first glance, this company may seem like an insignificant footnote in coffee history – but look closer and you’ll see that it was responsible for helping kickstart Deming’s coffee scene as we know it today. Sasonson Brothers Coffee Roasters reopened Pecos Coffee Company in 1978 after being closed for more than 25 years due to financial difficulties. Today, this family-owned business sources its beans from more than sixty growers throughout New Mexico and Arizona. Pecos County’s rich history with coffee goes back even further. The region was originally inhabited by Native American tribes who cultivated maize (marijuana) as a source of food and fiber; these people left behind evidence of their presence including petroglyphs and pottery dating back to 7500 BC! In 1875 Douglas Condon discovered oiligeous shale under Pecos County which led to increased production from farming operations; however, within two decades production had diminished so much that local ranchers decided to abandon their crops entirely! This event marked an important turning point for the county as new settlers began arriving looking for land where they could dairy or build homes…all while keeping access to natural resources intact! In 1912 Charlie Hettinger opened his first grocery store on Main Street in downtown Deming; soon after he began importing AfricanAmerican slaves into town so that they could be employed at his grocery store (and later at other businesses). This act helped spur economic development within town and launched Hettinger into local legend – not only because he helped start something new but also because he was such an advocate for educational opportunities within Deming community college (DMC). For many years Hettinger served as president of DMC/PECOS COFFEE FOUNDATION which continues active today providing scholarships AND advocacy FOR DEMING COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS! Hettinger is also knownfor his philanthropy including giving millions towards education reform initiatives overseas AND supporting numerous charities throughout his career including earthquake relief efforts Japan Earthquake Returned Home Todeming

Deming's meteoric rise to prominence began with a single decision: He refused to accept any recommendations from his superiors for how to improve his community. instead he took matters into his own hands and created a model of management that effectively improved the quality of life for all in his village. From this initial success, Deming quickly rose through the ranks at local businesses and eventually became headmaster of an educational institute in nearby Albuquerque. In 1977, after leading New Mexico to its first statewide victory in 30 years, Deming was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics forhis work on management theory and its application to business settings. This recognition further inspired people around the world to learn about what he had done and contribute their own innovative ideas to help other communities achieve similar successes. Today, Deming is considered one of Americas most respected leaders – able to inspire people everywhere with his passion for change and unbridled belief in human potential.

Deming is a small town in New Mexico, United States. It was founded by Jose Deming on July 10, 1865. The Deming School District is the only school district in New Mexico with over 1,000 students and it has been providing education to children since 1892. It also has a large military presence from World War II through present day. Jose Deming was born into a poor family in Aguas Calientes Province, Chihuahua, Mexico on July 10th 1865. He started work as a clerk at age 16 and soon became an important leader of his community. In 1893 he opened the first store in the area and within 5 years had built up an extensive business empire that included lumber and other goods. In 1912 he established what is now known as the Jose Deming Foundation to promote responsible management of resources and protect the environment; this foundation still exists today as one of New Mexico's most important entities. In 1956 he was inducted into the National Electrical Manufacturers Association Hall of Fame; this event marked his recognition for his contributions to electrical industry throughout his career spanning more than 50 years. Deming’s principles are still highly influential today: “There can be no perfection without improvement” (deming), “Quality comes from creating value for others” (Kuhn), “People are people so never give up on them – always keep working hard!” (Oscar Wilde). These principles continue to guide every aspect of our lives here in Deming- even when times seem tough!
