Beacon, New York is home to the United States Military Academy (USMA). The academy was founded in 1802 and is one of the oldest military academies in the United States. USMA has graduated more than 350 officers, including 35 members of the U.S. Chiefs of Staff Committee. The USMA also offers a variety of other undergraduate and graduate programs in various fields of study related to serving in the military. The history of military gift history at USMA begins with its founder, General John J. Pershing. General Pershing was a great friend and ally of American President James K Polk, who helped get him elected as Commander-in-Chief of the American army during World War I. After fighting on opposite sides during that war, General Pershing became friends with President Wilson and agreed to help create the League of Nations to prevent another world war. After America's entry into World War II, General Pershing was again called upon to lead our country's armed forces. He served as Commandant of West Point from 1943 until his retirement in 1945 after nearly 50 years at that institution. While at West Point, General Pershing taught a class on personal gifts for members of the armed forces which he later revised and expanded into his book "Military Gift History: A Guide for Officers and Men". This textbook remains an important guide today for those studying military gift history within USMA! In 1949, USMA began offering its own undergraduate program – commissioned officer training (COT) – which became one of Americas most prestigious institutions for students interested in becoming officers in our Armed Forces! COT allows students to earn their commission through hard work and dedication rather than through any easy path! Beacon, New York is a town in the Chenango County region of New York, United States. The population was 5,868 at the 2010 census. Beacon is located on the southern border of Chenango County and is northeast of Ithaca. It is part of the Utica-Rome, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European sighting of Beacon was by Giovanni da Verrazzano in 1492 when he landed on Long Island and charted its location as "Beacon Hill". In 1714, George Washington and his army invaded New York from Canada while under cover of darkness to cross over to England through what is now Beacon Hill; this event helped make Washington an American hero. The current name for the town was given to it by General John Sullivan during his counterattack against British forces at Battle Of Fort Stanwix in 1777; Sullivan called it "Bethlehem". In 1831, John Fenton opened a small steamboat terminal on South Ferry Road across from where modern day State Street meets First Avenue in what became known as Fentonville. In 1885, one million passengers passed through Fentonville daily with railroads connecting it to Syracuse and Buffalo; today only two tracks remain connected with passenger service being cancelled due to lack of money from Amtrak. In 1951, beacons high school dropped out of public education after years struggling financially but reopened in nearby Rome City High School as part of a larger schools district consolidation movement which also affected many towns throughout upstate New York that year. After fifty years without any primary or middle school students attending beacon's original high school (now Rome City Middle School), classes were reinstated in 2008 following fundraising efforts spearheaded by then-Mayor Joel Kotkin who said "the community needed help after 50 years". Classes have since resumed at their original location with about 350 students enrolled full time each semester making Beacon one of the most diverse communities in UpstateNY On October 2nd 2009 Beacons fire department responded to a call for assistance from citizens who noticed strange behavior coming out of my grandfathers house across street from our house on West Side road...After arrival we found 3 cars parked outside his home including 2 occupied ones with keys inside! Upon further inspection we found a 4th car that had not been reported until after the fire had started...When asked why no firefighters were sent to investigate we were told that because there was no fire danger they would not have gone anyway! This case serves as yet another reminder that good Samaritans should always think twice before helping anyone they don't know about before doing something rash like parking their vehicle next door without calling 911! This illustrates how important it is for residents to always be aware and stay safe when responding to emergency calls especially if you don't know who or what is causing the disturbance!

Beacon is a small town in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 1,591 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. Beacon was first settled by Europeans in 1785 as a trading post on Canandaigua Creek. The name "Beacon" is derived from the Mohawk word beacons which means "to guide or lead." In 1802, Captain George Washington and his Legion of Mounted Volunteers passed through Beacon while campaigning against British forces in Canada; they were so impressed with the town that they named it after Washington's military unit. The first settler in what would become Beacon was Presbyterian minister John Watts who arrived in 1786 and built some homes on the east side of Canandaigua Creek. He also developed an estate near present-day Buffalo Niagara Harbor called Watkins Glen Farm which he sold to Samuel McIntyre in 1792 for $5,000. At this time, most people living around Canandaigua Creek used Neutral creek as their water source because there wasn't any other place to get water close by. Some believe that McIntyre may have named his farm after General James Wilkinson who fought at Saratoga during the American Revolutionary War and later served as Governor of New York State (1784-87). In 1802, when PresidentGeorge Washington and his Legion of Mounted Volunteers passed through Beacon while campaigning against British forces in Canada; they were so impressed with the town that they named it after Washington's military unit:Mounted Regiment #2 (Washington's army). In 1825, Senator Nicholas Conklin donated land to build a public school for students from all over Erie County. The school opened on December 12th, 1825 under instruction from Professor Ebenezer Eaton of Cornell University; it was one of only three schools open during those days outside of New York City! Today, Beacon has a significant history and culture which can be seen throughout its community buildings including its Public School - once considered one of America’s landmarks - now operated by Niagara Parks! Some believe that McIntyre may have named his farm after General James Wilkinson who fought at Saratoga during the American Revolution and later served as Governor of New York State (1784-87). In 1827, Senator Nicholas Conklin donated land to build another public school for students from all over Erie County; this time under instruction from Professor Amos Kendallof Yale University! The school opened on December 5thunder instruction from Reverend Drury Colburnof Immaculate Conception Parish! Today beacon boasts two excellent private high Schools - Preble Academy & Stonington Catholic High School - both offering rigorous academic programs leading to college level scholarships!
