Endicott is a town in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 11,883 at the 2010 census. Endicott is one of five towns in the county and it is part of the New York City Metropolitan Area. The land that now makes up Endicott was first settled by Germans in 1788. In 1814, when Albany and Schenectady were merged into the new state of New York, Endicott became part of Albany County. In 1819, the county was divided into two parts—Albany and Schenectady—and Endicott was put within Albany County. In 1835, when Albany County became a state district under the New York State Constitution, Endicott became part of that district as well. From then on, it was an independent town. In 1898, during the Adirondack Park Agency Act (), which created the park system in New York State, Endicotts village (later called Utica) came under control of Adirondack Park and it remains an independent municipality to this day (). In 1907–08,[1] when there were major revisions to local government law in New York State due to changes in federal ownership of many parks throughout the country following World War I,[2] Endicotto's village became one of ten communities across New York State to be annexed into their corresponding boroughs;[3] this annexation continued until 1973 when all but two communities (Brooklyn and Yonkers) lost their autonomy over local politics and passed instead into borough hands pursuant to Borough-within-borough law.[4][5][6] The last community to lose its autonomy over local politics was Amherstburg Manor on Long Island which did so following a referendum held on November 3rd 1973.[7][8][9][10] At present there are no plans for any further annexations within EndicOTT; however any future changes or expansions to NYS Local Government Law may result in such an event as villages may gain or lose autonomy based on public opinion or legislation passed by state legislators

Endicott, New York is a town in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 10,711 at the 2010 census. It was named after the Englishman Edward Endicott (1775-1838). With its long and winding streets and hills, Endicott is a charming community with plenty of history to share. From the early days of settlers to the revival of agriculture in the early 20th century, Endicott has been a key player in local and statewide events. Today, endowment properties make up a significant part of its economy and residents continue to contribute important civic activity. The first inhabitants of what is now Endicott were Native Americans who hunted game on the area's several thousand acres (1 km²). In 1793 George Washington chartered two towns in Erie County - one called Newtown (now Buffalo) and another called Canandaigua - based on land grants from Iroquois leaders. In 1814 these towns became separate municipalities when Erie County was created from parts of Ontario and Niagara counties. The town of Norwich was founded by David Frost in 1825 as part of that separation process; it would be renamed Norwich later that year after John Eliot Drury Jr., an American author and diplomat who served as Ulysses S. Grant's Secretary of State during Reconstruction. In 1827 Startacotta Township formed from Stillwater Township eastward along present day Route 9 until it reached what is now central Endicott; then Startacotta split off to form North Beginacotta Township in 1830 while Stillwater continued southward into what are today Bradfordville Townships eastward until it reached what is now modern day Canandaiguatownship; finally East Beginacotta Township formed from all but about 2 square miles (5 km²) of still currentStillwater Township when it split off from county government in 1840 due to lack thereof following Railroad construction nearby which destroyed most rural infrastructure including schools, churches etc.. These splits made little impact on daily life as different communities developed around their respective villages or hamlets within larger neighborhoods which continues into present day with various names like "Norwich", "Canandaigua" etcetera…Today’s Municipality Heartland includes all but 4 square miles (10 km²)of original Sanford bounds while other smaller areas have since been annexed by neighboring municipalities making for an ever-changing landscape typical for small towns across America! In 1850 Canaan Church – built on lands donated by John Eliot Drury – became the first building erected within present day Endicott limits; this followed shortly thereafter by additional churches/churches throughout Plainfield Village before 1800′s end with over 100 structures extant today! In addition many private homes also sprang up during this time period belonging largely to prosperous farm families such as those mentioned earlier such as “Frost” family patriarch David Frost Sr who resided at his large manor house known locally simply as “The White House” which stood until recently overlooking Main Street just outside today’s downtown core…. self described[as] “the largest brick structure standing west [of] Syracuse on Albany Road”….. Innumerable barns & sheds were constructedPriority being given primarily to agricultural production potential ensuing numerous major crops grown including apples, pears, plums & grapes….. By 1860 establishment had progressed so far that post office had moved inside big new frame building soon erected adjoining church…. Incorporated December 12th 1862 under name [of] Utica
