Endicott, New York is a village in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 9,722 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Albany–Schenectady–Troy area. Endicott is located on the southern border of Westchester County and forms the western edge of Mohawk Valley. The Village of Endicott was established by Andrew Carnegie in 1881 as a result of his construction company's investment in land east of Schenectady that had been abandoned by settlers because of malaria and other diseases. One early settler, John Prentice, built what is now Main Street in Endicott. In 1887, Andrew Carnegie donated to the village an acre (0.40 km²) for a church and also funded new roads and school buildings. In 1912, he donated another acre (0.40 km²) for a library which became known as Carnegie Hall Library until it closed in 1985 due to financial difficulties. The village has since rebuilt both its church and library with public money In 1916-1917 during World War I, Endicott played host to one of the largest military exercises ever staged in upstate New York when General James Auchinleck invaded Canada via Lake Ontario; more than 2 million troops from all over America participated including more than 800 officers from units stationed throughout Western New York Since its establishment as an incorporated village in 1881, Endicott has grown through annexation by neighboring villages including Scranton Township (1892), Northrow Heights (1902), Bolton (1914), Pleasantville (1920), Waterford (1924), Somersworth Village( 1928). On July 1st 1961 Kinderhook Township merged into Westchester County while Stillwater Township annexed into EndicOTT on August 15th 2009 making it 8 municipalities within 2 county divisions According to the 2010 United States Census there are 9,722 people residing in EndicottiVillage-Total: 7,827 Male: 5953 Female: 6546

Endicott is a town in western New York, United States. The population was 10,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers to Endicott were three brothers, John, Nicholas and James Endicott, who arrived in 1786 from Rhode Island. They erected a small cabin on the left bank of the Niagara River and called their settlement "New Hope." In 1802 they sold their land to Isaac Parker and Josiah Morse. They continued to live there until1824 when they moved to what is now Utica, New York. In 1825 two men named Orville Brown and Nathan Hale bought some of the original land around Endicott from Isaac Parker and Josiah Morse. They began building a home on what is now Main Street as "Nathan Hale's Town Home". This home became known as "Endicott Manor" after Nathan Hale's death in 1828. In 1831 William Hallett built a sawmill on the river near where Main Street crossed it for transportation of logs downstream for lumber companies such as Stevens & Sons. This mills active until about 1920. The mill village which lay just outside of EndicOTT formed part of downtown Buffalo until it was destroyed by fire in 1978; however, its ruins still remain today across Beaver Drive from the current headquarters of local media company WKBW-TV (channel 3). In 1832 Oliver Wendell Holmes moved his family to Endicott from Worcester County, Massachusetts after winning an election representing that county as a justice on the US Supreme Court (he had previously been elected governor). He purchased some property east of Main Street from Nathan Hale and built himself a house there called "Holmes' House". The Holmeses remained here until 1840 when they moved westward again to Milwaukee County, Wisconsin where they acquired additional property before dying in 1862 at age eighty-eight years old. Their fourth son Henry also became an author and judge during this time period.
