Fresh roasted coffee has been a popular beverage in Fredonia for over 150 years. The first coffee beans were grown on the property of Dr. Samuel Morse in 1820. In 1853, Mr. and Mrs. John Jacob Astor began planting coffee trees on their estate in what is now known as Astoria Park. Fresh roasted coffee continues to be a favorite beverage in Fredonia today, and the company that processes and sells it remains one of the town's most important businesses.

The first coffeehouses in Fredonia, New York were established in the early 1800s. The first coffee house in Fredonia was the Coffee House at the corner of Clinton and Main Streets. In 1824, John Hogg opened the first store in what is now called the Olde Towne Shopping Center on Clinton Street. In 1830, James Crouch opened a grocery store on Main Street which became known as The Maple Leaf Grocery Store.
Fredonia is a small town in Upstate New York, about 25 miles (40 km) south of the city of Syracuse. It was founded in 1812 by Dutch immigrants, and named for Frederick de Witt, 3rd Earl of Delaware. The community now has a population of just over 1000 residents. The first post office in Fredonia was established on April 12, 1814. It was called "Haverhill". In 1836, the community added the word "New" to its name to reflect its growth since 1812. Frederica Academy was founded in 1865 and became an accredited four-year college in 1915. In 1925, Fredonia organized itself as a village and adopted a corporate charter under the name of Village Of Fredonia Incorporated. The first recorded reference to fresh roasted coffee was in 1493 when Giovanni della Porta wrote about how he preferred “coffea pulite”, meaning clear coffee. This term referred to the quality of beans that were freshly roasted and not processed. In 1813, Nicholas-Jacques Conte documented how great Italian roasters used whole beans instead of ground coffee for their morning tea and espresso drinks. Coffee began being exported to other countries such as France and Spain soon after. The first commercial roaster in America started operations in 1865 and became known as Starbucks. They roast all their coffee except for decaf which they sell separately. The popularity of Starbucks has led them to start producing other brands including Dunkin' Donuts, Peet's Coffee, Caribou Coffee, Blue Bottle Coffee and many more over the years. Fresh roasted coffee continues to be an important part of the American breakfast landscape today with millions of people enjoying its unique flavor profile each day.

Fredonia is a small town in the Catskills of upstate New York, located on the eastern edge of the Mohawk Valley. At its peak in the early 1800s, it had a population of 2,000 people. In 1847, when General James Wilkinson was appointed military governor of New York by President George Washington, Fredonia became part of his province. After Wilkinson's departure in 1849 and the opening of New York State to white settlement, Fredonia declined rapidly in population and economic importance. However, it remains an important local community with a rich history dating back to its earliest days as a Dutch fur trading post at the mouth of the Otsego River. The first Europeans to visit what is now Fredonia were French traders fishing along the Otsego River in 1624. trader François de Montcalm named this place Fort Nassau after his ship NXS Grande Bretagne which he captured from Spanish pirates off Long Island Sound on October 14th that year. The first permanent European settlers arrived around 1701 when Nicholas-Jacques Charpentier and his family set up a trading post on an east-west road leading from Kingston (now Niagara Falls) downriver to Albany (now Buffalo) and then overland across Lake Ontario to Fort Stanwix near Niagara Falls. From here they traded furs with Indian tribes living around the area before moving inland towards modern day Syracuse and Buffalo. The first American colonists reached what is now Fredonia about 1664 when John White landed there with his militia during King Philip's War against Spain – thus becoming one of America’s earliest pioneers! At that time most settlers came via waystation or trade route called “the Great Road” between Albany and Syracuse/Buffalo/Niagara Falls Road which connected these three towns by ferry rather than by land bridge as we know it today due to flooding caused by advancing glaciers over 1000 years ago! The last major crossing took place in 1714 when Colonel Christopher Claiborne founded what is now Rochester upon joining forces with Major John Johnson’s garrison under Rear Admiral Richard Montgomery at Fort Orange at present day Kingston
