In the early 1960s, Haverstraw coffee was one of the first coffee businesses in the town. The business started out as a small roastery and espresso shop. It slowly grew over time, eventually becoming a large-scale coffee company. Today, Haverstraw Coffee is one of New York's most successful coffee companies. The history of Haverstraw Coffee begins with Angelo Martinelli, who founded Martinelli's Coffee in 1964. Angelo was an Italian immigrant who settled in Haverstraw and started the business to provide quality coffee to his local community. In addition to his coffee shop, Martinelli also ran a bakery and grocery store in the town until he died in 1998. Haverstraw Coffee continues to be owned and operated by its original founders today. The company sells its beans direct to consumers throughout New York City and statewide. In recent years, they have even ventured into international markets!

The first coffee roasting company in Haverstraw was called the Farmers Market Coffee Company. This business was founded in 1892 by F. W. Dillard and his brother-in-law, John S. Lewis. The Farmers Market Coffee Company roasted and sold coffee from a small lot on Main Street in Haverstraw. In 1896, the brothers-in-law moved their business to a larger location on Second Avenue in Haverstraw. The company continued to grow and change over the years, until it merged with two other businesses, The Dutch Bros.' Coffee House and The Big Apple Grocery Store in 1924. At this point, the name of the company changed to the Haverstraw Coffee Company Ltd., which remained active until 1967 when it merged with another local coffee shop, Dutch Bros.' Cafeteria & Restaurant Corporation.

Haverstraw is a small town in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. The name is derived from the Celtic word "HAVERSTRAW", meaning "hill of the hazelnuts". The first settler in Haverstraw was Gideon Greenough in 1795. He and his family were farmers and later built a gristmill on the stream that now enters Haverstraw Creek. In 1827, Nathaniel Ames bought land near present-day Haverstraw and began to build a home there. Ames became an important figure in early Haverstraw society and helped to found the local Presbyterian church in 1829. In 1835–36, he donated land for a public school which opened in 1838. Haverstraw developed as a farming community around mills and churches until the arrival of railroads in the late 19th century changed all that. The first railroad reached Haverstraw on December 12, 1867, when it linked Utica with Buffalo via Schenectady Junction. By 1870, over half of NY 14 had been built; by 1890, over three-quarters of NY 14 had been completed. Railroads allowed settlers to move out of subsistence farming into larger towns where they could buy goods they couldn’t produce themselves: clotheslines stretched from one end of town to another; grocery stores sprouted up like mushrooms; hotels filled up with travelers who stopped at every stop along their journey north or south (and vice versa). As more people moved into townships and villages east of Hudson River—including what is now Westchester County—Haverstonians became less likely to interact directly with their original rural neighbors on Long Island Sound

Haverstraw is a town in Sullivan County, New York, United States. The population was 1,722 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. Haverstraw was founded by colonists from England in 1788 and named for Haverstock Hill, a hilly town near London. The first permanent settler in Haverstraw was Nicholas Stone in 1792. He built a small cabin on what is now Main Street and died soon after, leaving his land to his son Nicholas Stone II. The town began to grow rapidly with the arrival of more settlers in 1815-1816 and 1820-1821. By 1830, there were over 100 people living in Haverstraw. In 1836, the village had become an incorporated town under the name of "Haverstown". During the American Civil War (1861-1914), many residents sided with Confederate forces while others chose to fight for the Union side. Many buildings still stand today that belonged to either side of this battle: Confederate Infantry Barracks on what is now High Street (now home to local businesses), Fort Drum Factory on Broadway (now a heritage property administered by the New York State Office of Parks and Recreation) and John Brown's Home which stood on Fulton Avenue between First and Second streets until it burned down in 1984. The municipality voted 5-to-1 in favor of secession from New York City on July 26th 1860 but failed to gain enough signatures for inclusion into city government despite having twice as many residents as Buffalo did at that time; Buffalo became an independent city two years later when its own charter was ratified by voters referendum). In 1865, following Buffalo’s incorporation as a separate city, Haverstraw became part of that new city’s limits – but continued to maintain its own government within its own boundaries until 1870 when it finally joinedBuffalo proper as one municipality under Mayor Daniel Webster’s administration. Today much of what once constituted typical rural Sullivan County life remains unchanged - dairy farming continues to play an important role among locals along with general store/grocery shopping being conducted mainly out east off I-787 or even further west along I-390 outside Carthage though there are also several restaurants inside town limits these days as well... nonetheless there are periodic celebrations hereabouts like 4th Of July fireworks displays which always draws quite a crowd especially given how smalltown life can be!

The town was first settled by English colonists in 1674 and named after Haverstraw in Bedfordshire, England. The first post office opened in 1785. The name changed to Haverstraw (now Averill) in 1803 and again to Haverstraw (now New Auburn) in 1815. In 1836 it became a village, but declined rapidly in population until it reached its peak of 10,000 residents during the 1960s and 1970s. In 1980 it reverted to its original name of Haverstraw. In 2000 Haverstraw had an estimated population of 8,496; however this number decreased to 7,813 as the result of the Census 2000 moving restrictions placed on single family homes within 1/2 mile of schools or parks). As a result of these restrictions and other changes throughout the years noted below, with only slight exceptions there has been little change taking place within the community since 2000 save for some gentrification which has slowly started making way for more diverse housing choices as well as increasing support infrastructure including early childhood development programs etc...
