Pearson, Commander in Chief Atlantic Fleet. 1986-1989 - A set of four lifesaving masks was donated by Captain Donny O'Malley, Commanding Officer, Middletown Station. 1990-1992 - An engraved brass plaque with an inscription reading "For 106 years we have honored your service" was presented to the town hall by Lieutenant Governor Donald Lipsitz on behalf of the New York State Rangers program. 1993-1996 - A commemorative certificate recognizing service during World War II was bestowed upon Commodore James Waddell, commanding officer USS Ajax (CVN 73).

During World War II, much activity took place at nearby Niagara Falls due to wartime demand for goods produced within MiddletOWN itself including munitions manufacturers and agriculture producers. Today, most businesses have since closed or relocated away from downtown due to economic challenges unique to this area such as high unemployment rates and limited access to outside capital or transportation options. Middletown, New York is a small town in westchester County, New York, United States. It is located on the border of the towns of Westchester and White Plains. The population was 12,827 at the 2010 census. Middletown is one of eight villages in Westchester County that are part of the city of Yonkers. The community was first called "Middletown" after it was settled by English colonists in 1664. The name derived from Middle Dutch midden (middle), meaning "the place where things were found," and -town (place). In 1814, Middletown became part of White Plains when that area annexed by Yonkers. Middletown's founders were farmers who lived around what is now Main Street and Prospect Road. They began to settle there when land grants were available for purchase from the Crown following the Revolutionary War. By 1786, most residents had removed to other areas because of poor soil quality or lack of water availability for their crops. However, some continued to live in Middletown until its incorporation into Yonkers as a village in 1814. In 1870, due to increased demand for schools within the expanding city limits, Middletown voted to secede from White Plains and become its own independent village. Its first mayor was John Fenton Wiley Jr.. The vote followed a recommendation made by then-Mayor Nicholas Biddle with the goal of providing more education opportunities for all villagers living within City Limits! The secession failed; however, it marked an important milestone in village history as it helped provide initial funding for Village Hall & Schoolhouse which still stands today on Main Street just opposite Fifth Avenue Subway Station! During World War II many residents turned out to help with war materials production at two local munitions factories; these factories closed after the war but have since been restored and currently serve as historical attractions open year-round! Additionally during wartime years local businesses produced food items like canned goods and fruit that were distributed throughout Central New York via truck or busloads! The post-war boom brought new life to downtown MiddletOWN with retail shops such as Sears & Roebuck opening up along with restaurants including Joe’s Pizza and Tony Roma’s Italian Restaurant becoming popular locations both inside & outside of Village Hall/School House across Route 9A from Second Avenue Subway Station!!! Today we continue this trend with new cafes such as Blue Bottle Coffee Company opening up along side our longstanding favorite Indian Takeout joint – Samanadevi’s – which has been open since 1978!!!!!!
