The National Guard of New York City was organized on November 15, 1792. The first company was organized at the Armory in Fort Tryon, and the first colonel was appointed. In 1807, the regiment moved to Saratoga Springs and then to Albany where they were reactivated in 1812. They fought in the War of 1812 and received a Congressional Medal of Honor for their bravery. In 1861, after the Civil War began, the regiment became part of Ulysses S. Grant's army as an infantry brigade under General Powell'scommand. They served throughout the war with distinction and participated in many battles including First Bull Run, Antietam and Gettysburg. After the war ended they disbanded but re-formed in 1898 as a reserve battalion under President Theodore Roosevelt’s command. From 1907-1914 they served again as an infantry brigade under Colonel John Wainwright before finally being dissolved on October 1st 1914 due to budgetary reasons which also included World War I service by units from other states within New York Army National Guard; this unit later became known as Company A (23rd Infantry Regiment) New York State Militia

The New York National Guard was first organized on October 26, 1792. It was the fourth militia regiment created in the state of New York. The unit was mobilized for three years and served as a part of the Continental Forces during the American Revolution. In 1809, the National Guard was called to serve in Puerto Rico during the Spanish-American War. They were again called to active duty in 1845 when Buffalo City, Niagara Falls and other locations in central New York were flooded by canal waters following a general strike that year. The Guardsmen helped clean up afterward and played an important role in deterring violence from breaking out between workers anditors and soldiers. In 1898, Mount Kisco became an incorporated town within federal jurisdiction after becoming part of Erie County. On July 1, 1907, the New York National Guard troops arrived to help with celebrations marking Dayton's birthday as county seat of Erie County. That year also saw marked changes for the Guardsmen due to World War I which began two months before they were activated for service. After completing their training at Camp Randall near Madison Wisconsin, they were deployed along with other units across America to fight in Europe where they served honorably until 1919 when they returned home without having seen combat again. On November 15th 1937, Governor Franklin D Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9292 which directed all state militias be turned over to local authorities effective December 15th; this order exempted the national guard troops from being turned into state military forces upon their return home from overseas service or if there is any change or adjustment made to their organization or equipment while on active duty abroad or while peaceable residing within their own respective states outside of interstate travel). This turn over effectively ended much of the history behind Mount Kisco's relationship with its national guard garrison; prior to this time it had been through individual unit activations (i.e., Buffalo City - 1830s-1845s), Governors Orders (1937-1939), various Commanders/Directors orders (1920s-1937), etc..
Mount Kisco, New York is a small town located in Westchester County, New York. The population was 10,874 at the 2010 census. The town is one of the former villages of Westchester County and was part of the former Town of Clinton. It is now an incorporated village. The first settler in what is now Mount Kisco was Nicholas Payson in 1777. He named his land "Kisco." The first post office here was established on July 15, 1809. In 1827, voters approved a new town charter that made Mount Kisco an independent village with its own government and schools. In 1889, the village became part of the larger city of Yonkers when that township was formed from parts of Westchester and Rockland counties. Mount Kisco's status as an independent village continued until May 13, 1957 when it merged with the neighboring town of Watkins Glen to form the new city of Yonkers - a merger that had been proposed by Mayor James Vlastos back in 1955 but never finalized due to opposition from then-Mayor Mario Cuomo (D). As part of the merge process, Mount Kisco lost some important civic amenities such as its own fire department and library while gaining access to more services within the newly created city limits including public transportation; however, much remains unique about this historic community today such as its small number of homes surrounded by vast open fields ideal for agriculture or horseback riding; as well as its tight-knit community spirit which has helped keep many residents engaged into their local businesses since incorporation over 125 years ago.

On September 15, 1933, the Militia Act No. 2 (Pt II) designated all state militias as part of the Army in order to provide them with same rights and benefits as Regular Army troops. This act also doubled their size from 24 million to 48 million citizens serviceable in times of war or emergency). As World War II approached there were calls for increased military preparedness in light of Nazi Germany's aggressive expansionism in Europe and Asia. On December 8, 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 which announced that U.S Armed Forces would become available to mobilize at any time for war purposes without prior notification or vote by Congress (this order went against Congressional wishes contained in section 5(a) of The Military Code). The mobilized National Guard became known as The Pro tempore Army (), providing it full access to all resources enjoyed by regular army troops but not limited to combat service only (). Wehrmacht forces invaded North Africa on June 10th 1942., resulting in more than 400 thousand casualties among both Axis and Allied troops including over 150 thousand Americans who lost their lives serving with distinction in World War II (). The town of Mount Kisco, New York is a small village located in the Towns of Rome and Webster in Niagara County, New York. The population was 1,824 at the 2010 census. Mount Kisco was first settled by Europeans in 1784. It became part of the Erie Canal system in 1825 and became an important transportation center for goods entering and leaving the canal. In 1853, the town voted to secede from Niagara County and form its own government. On January 1, 1861, Mount Kisco attained city status under the leadership of Mayor Levi Woodbury. It was during this time that Mount Kisco sources its nickname "The Hilltown". The original downtown area still retains some evidence of its early days - such as a large overhang on one side of Main Street which served as a grain elevator until 1978. Over time, however, business declined and Mount Kisco experienced significant decline throughout much of the 20th century due to factors such as manufacturing outsourcing and reductions in expressways leading into it from other parts of New York State." However, things began to change after 2002 when then-Mayor Steve Rattray renovated downtown with new businesses including The Dog House Cafe & Dog Wash (now open since 2009), Bistro du Lac (opened in 2006), and Joe's Pizza (opened in 2004). This revitalization has helped resurgence DowntownmountKisco's economy while also increasing public awareness around issues like infrastructure needs that affect all small villages across America."
