One of the earliest coffee lovers in this town was John Fenton, who opened his first store in 1825. He sold coffee beans and cream from his shop on Main Street. From here, he started buying land around the town and building stores and homes. The first grocery store in Newburgh was founded by George Hutton in 1868. In 1907, Mr. Fenton's widow sold her business interest to Atherton Coffee Company for $5,000. This company became famous for its roasted beans and sells them all over the world today. In 1919, Mrs. Fenton's son Harry bought her interest back and continued running the company until it merged with JB Robinson's Coffee Company in 1945. At this time, John Fenton's grandson also took ownership of the business-John Hatton Fenton III (1927-2009). Many other businesses have been located within Newburgh since then-including local printing companies that produced The Daily News, The Independent Times (now Utica Journal), The Courier Press (later Utica Observer) and more-but John Hatton Fenton III is always considered to be responsible for starting the current incarnation of JB Robinson's Coffee Company which still operates today! Today, JB Robinson's Coffee Company has locations throughout upstate New York as well as internationally; it continues to serve delicious cup of Joe every day! Some of our most beloved customers include Presidents George Washington Carver Jr., Franklin D Roosevelt and Ulysses S Grant; musicians like Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald and Willie Dixon; actors like Al Pacino, Christopher Plummer and Woody Allen; lawyers such as Edwin Meese III – all of whom have placed an order or purchased some amazing cups of Joe at our establishment! Newburgh, New York (population: 12,700) is a town in and the county seat of Orange County, New York, United States. The population was 17,871 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in what is now Newburgh was Nicholas de Langsdorf who arrived in 1664 on an Dutch ship survey. He named his new land "Nieuwburgh", meaning "new village". In 1772, Colonel John Armstrong founded Armstrong's Mills which became one of the largest textile mills in the world. In 1804, Newburgh incorporation was granted to citizens of Niagara and Erie Counties by act of Congress under the name of Orange Countyethy Towne or Boroughe situatc'd within said counties; under which name it continued until 1827 when it reverted to its original title as Towne or Boroughe of Newburgh. In 1827, mob violence erupted after local farmers burned down a courthouse that had been built by George Stephenson for Buffalo Township. A group led by Andrew Johnson set out to take revenge on those responsible and burned down several buildings including Armstrong's Mills before finally being driven off by militia forces at nightfall. This event is often considered to be the beginning of organized crime in Buffalo Township. One parish church still stands today - Our Lady Of Lourdes Parish Church - located just east of downtown Newburgh on routes 11 and 12A near where US Route 66 crosses into Buffalo Township from Syracuse County across country. Prior to this time there were no structures other than log cabins used for religious services during winterstime between November 20th through April 6th due to lack of winter resources available within our town limits at that time! All around town you can still find numerous piles (quite literally!) dating back over 100 years old filled with snow inside churches/parishes back then! Even today many people know about and visit these places during Holy Week...all without ever going outside their own homes! Indeed some would say that Christmas never happened here because all those events took place within churches Yards!!!

Newburgh was a small town in upstate New York until the mid-19th century. It developed around the Erie Canal, which connected Buffalo and Albany. The town's growth accelerated during the late 19th century as farmers moved into the area to work on the canal. The early 20th century saw an increase in real estate development and mass migration to Newburgh from other parts of Upstate New York. In addition, local businesses grew to become powerful players in the community. By 1925, Newburgh had reached its peak population and economic prosperity. However, by World War II, Newburgh had rapidly lost its status as a leading regional center due to increased competition from larger cities in the area.
Newburgh is a town in Orange County, New York, United States. The population was 11,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Syracuse metropolitan area. The first European settlers in what is now Orange County were Dutch colonists who arrived in 1624 and claimed land on the east bank of the Mohawk River. In 1764, a group of English farmers led by Colonel George Washington founded what would become Newburgh on an bluff overlooking the river. In 1801, General James Monroe built Fort Niagara on the north side of the river to protect Newburgh from French attacks during the War for Independence. As part of that campaign, American forces burned down part of Quebec City and captured much of Canada before retreating back upriver to Fort Erie. During his presidency (1809-1813), James Kieft purchased 2,000 acres (800 ha) south of Newburgh for $10 per acre (4 ha). This community was known as "Kieft's Swamp." Kieft donated this land to Townsquare mall Development Company which renamed it after him in 1997 when it became one of several malls owned by The Landmark Group Inc.. In 2001, Kieft's family sold their holdings in Townsquare mall to Cerberus Capital Management LP and merged their company with Monmouth Mall Inc., which also owns/operated Port Jefferson Center shopping center across Route 9 from Kieft's swamp. On October 3rd 2018 it was announced that The Landmark Group Inc will be selling its remaining assets including Kieth's swamp to Cerberus Capital Management LP effective November 1st 2018
