The first recorded mention of the Rye, New York Army National Guard is in 1798 when General George Washington visited the town to assess its defenses. At that time, a small militia was stationed at Fort Putnam, which is now part of the University at Buffalo. The military presence in Rye began with the organization of the First Brigade of Militia on November 2, 1861. On October 15th, 1866, an act was passed by the New York State Legislature authorizing the formation and arming of a regiment for service in Mexico as part of United States forces under General John C. Fremont. The regiment was designated Company E (Airmobile) and arrived in Mexicali on October 20th under command of Colonel James Wickersham. In 1865-1866 there were also deployments to Panama and Nicaragua; each time ending withmission to rest or return home without completing any operations. By 1868 there were only four companies left in our militia unit and it was reorganized as Company H (Rye) organized November 2nd 1861 with Captain Samuel Tilden as captain/commander & Lieutenant Augustus Fenton as adjutant/quartermaster sergeant/orderly major/ commissary sergeant major etc.. On September 14th 1870 a detachment from Company H (Rye) went into action against Confederate skirmishers near Gettysburg while other units attacked Confederate positions south of town; resulted in one dead soldier & six wounded soldiers from both sides includingCaptain Samuel Tilden who received a superb wound which required multiple surgeries but he recovered fully! Remembering this event many years later I found out that even though his wounds were not life threatening he still lost two fingers off his right hand! ATC can also conduct unilateral or multinational search-and-destroy operations in sensitive areas with no Russian counterpart present MEUs serve asshock troops inserted into hostile territory under cover of darkness to seek out supplies or insurgents before they can mount an attack

Rye is a small town in upstate New York, about 25 miles from Buffalo. The population of rye in the 2000 census was 2,715 people. This action helped win the Battle of Queenston Heights which effectively ended the war with Great Britain. After driving out all of the Native Americans living in this area, colonists began settling here due to its strategic location: on both sides of Lake Erie (northwest of Niagara Falls) and on top of a rise that allowed them good visibility for trade purposes as well as possible access to water resources. By 1825, over 1,000 people lived in Rye alone! During prohibition days (1921-1929), rye beer became one of many local products that saw increased popularity due to its low price tag compared to other alcoholic beverages available at that time. However, after repeal came into effect alcohol became more expensive overall and rye beer lost much favor among consumers; however it still remains an important part of many New Yorker's cultural heritage today!
