In 1821, John Madden opened his own coffee house in the same building. Maga Coffee House became one of the most popular places to buy coffee in Rye. The first espresso machine was created by Giovanni Negri in 1922. Maga Coffee House beganproducing espresso drinks for people living in different parts of New York City. In 1938, Harry's Chocolate Club moved into Maga Coffee House and began producing candy bars and chocolate milk pails out of their space. The Harry's Chocolate Club would later become Dunkin' Donuts . In 1968, Joes Pizza moved into Maga CoffeeHouse and started producing pizza from their ovens on the second floor of the building. The current owner of Maga Cafe is Timothy Koons who purchased it from Harry's Chocolate Club in 2018

In the 1800s, a group of Italian traders came to this region and began to trade with the local tribes. One of these traders, Giovanni Colombini, introduced them to Ethiopian coffee beans which he had been purchases from an Arab trader in Yemen. This new coffee became very popular among the Italians and soon spread throughout Europe. When World War II broke out, Ethiopia was occupied by Nazi Germany. Coffee beans from Abyssinia were used to make uniform clothing for German soldiers and their families. As a result, many of the best Ethiopian coffees were lost in translation during the war years. However, some Ethiopians did manage to smuggle some of these beans back into Africa after the war ended. These old beans went through several different processors before reaching our hands at Starbucks in 1986. Maga coffee has always been associated with quality and flavor because it is a product of traditional methods used by African farmers centuries ago – including pounding roots into flour and grinding them into a smooth paste using rocks or stones! Rye is a town in York County, New York, United States. The population was 5,873 at the 2010 census. Rye is one of the most picturesque villages in upstate New York and its history goes back to 1624 when it was part of the Mohawk Indian reservation. In 1814, rye was chosen as the site for a new county courthouse which became known as Independence Hall. In 1825, Rye received its charter from the State of New York as a town. Rye has been governed by a Mayor and Board of Aldermen since 1898. Rye sprang up on what were then open fields near present-day Haverhill and Canandaigua Roads between 1795 and 1800; during this time much progress was made in land development within that area. With gold discoveries starting to happen along the Erie Canal in 1825 (the first intra-US railway), interest grew among people in developing this valuable resource. When George Washington crossed over from Canada into America on his way to become President in 1789, he left behind him instructions that “a public house should be built at Albany” – meaning a man named Ezra Stiles was to start construction on such an establishment there immediately upon his return trip across the river (Stiles had earlier founded Albany). One result of this directive: by 1830 more than 2020 taverns had opened throughout what is now upstate New York! As things unfolded around here over time some key figures emerged who have had significant consequences for Rye – these include James Kieft (1697-1785), Elias Boudinot (1802-1862) & John Jacob Astor (1811-1887) – all three were early settlers arriving during those years who played critical roles both before and after taking control of local businesses/town government once they arrived back home permanently thereafter.
Rye, New York is a town in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 8,527 at the 2010 census. It is the smallest of the four towns in Erie County and is located on the south side of the Susquehanna River. The first settlers in what is now Rye were farmers who arrived from England in about 1795. They built a log cabin near present-day Main Street and founded a small community called North Meadow. In 1802, they moved to what is now South Meadow and built a larger cabin there. They named their community after John George Rye, an Englishman who had settled in Pennsylvania in 1785 and had become one of the earliest traders in Western Pennsylvania. In 1827, rye fever struck Rye and other villages along the Susquehanna River and within two years almost all of those living near its mouth were dead or dying from it. Farming was abandoned and most people began moving to new sites where farming could be done sustainably. The settlement at South Meadow lasted until around 1830 when it also succumbed to rye fever. At first rye was not very popular as an agricultural product because it did not grow well here but over time it became more popular because it was easy to process into flour for breadmaking or other purposes. In addition, rye beer (now known as whiskey) was very popular during Prohibition era because it did not contain any alcohol content which made it legal to purchase without facing arrest or prosecution as many other drinks did.
