Valley Stream is a town in Nassau County, New York, United States. The population was 4,711 at the 2010 census. Valley Stream's history dates back to 1795 when two brothers, Nicholas and Nathaniel Van Cortlandt, founded the village of Valley Stream on the south shore of Lake George. Valley Stream became an incorporated town in 1834. The population growth seen during the late 19th century and early 20th century was due to waves of immigration from Europe along with the development of industries such as textiles and munitions manufacturing. In recent decades Valleys stream has experienced steadily declining populations due to relocating to larger towns in rural areas outside of Valley Stream or moving away entirely after struggling with crime and economic decline. However, there are a few small businesses that continue to thrive within the limits of Valley Stream's downtown core.

Valley Stream is a town in the U.S. state of New York, located on the banks of the Hudson River. The population was 8,699 at the 2010 census. Valley Stream has been home to both Dutch and English settlers for centuries, and its name comes from two small streams that flow through it: "Valley" (meaning valley of) and "Stream" (meaning stream). The first settlement in what is now Valley Stream was established by Jacob de Witt and his brothers in 1624. It grew rapidly due to its location opposite New Amsterdam on the east bank of the river, which became Albany after that city's founding in 1624. The first school in Valley Stream was opened in 1795 by Reverend Nicholas Johnson, who also served as pastor of First Presbyterian Church there. In 1828 John Fenton built a dam across the stream to power an sawmill near present-day Westchester County Hospital; this mill helped spur development around Valley Stream, which began commercializing agriculture once it became easier to get water from nearby springs. The Millenarian movement emerged around this time and many people believed that technology could help make change happen quicker than people could learn about it or implement it themselves. This thinking led some to set up experimental farms along with their experiments with different crops and methods of irrigation; these early farmers laid down much of what is now known about modern agricultural practice. By 1892, when Valley Stream had a population exceeding 10,000, manufacturing had begun supplanting agriculture as the mainstay of local economy: lace making was one such industry shortly afterwards becoming world famous thanks to Queen Victoria’s visit to Valley Stream in 1892–93 during her tour of America—-a event widely hailed as one of history’s great social occasions—-and Vale

Valley Stream was a small settlement in the town of Valley Stream, now part of the city of New York. The first European to see it was Giovanni da Verrazzano in 1524. It was founded by Simon De Montresor and Joseph de Montresor, two noblemen from England, in 1714. They named it after their estate at Valle di Veneto, Italy. The original settlers were farmers and their families used the stream for drinking and fish-fishing. over time, the community grew into a commercial center with a store and several homes. In 1881 it had a population of 100 people and became an incorporated village under the name of Valley Stream Village. In 1945, during World War II, Valley Stream was hit by bombing raids from the Japanese Empire; many buildings were destroyed or damaged. The village rebuilt quickly with local labor using materials that were available at hand. By 1951 it had reached its present size with 300 residents and businesses. Today Valley Stream is a vibrant community home to businesses such as banks, restaurants, law firms, and health care clinics as well as artists studios and residences dating back to the 1800s. Many local historical attractions are open to visitors including Wayland Baptist Church which is one of America’s oldest Protestant churches (founded in 1688), Thacher Park (named for General George Washington), the remains of some early 19th century mills on Manor Pond Road (now part of Prospect Park),Valley Brook Golf Course[1], Point Lookout State Park[2],and more!
