After World War II ended, many members of the military retired or chose not to rejoin civilian life entirely. However, those who had served in The Guardsmen continued organization until 1970 when it merged with other military veteran organizations under one umbrella called Veterans OFTALY Corporation (VOOC). Today, there are over 3 million active Duty & ReserveNational Guardsmen nationwide including 1 million deployed Overseas!

White Plains, New York is a town in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 37,824 at the 2010 census. White Plains is part of the New York City Metropolitan Area. The name "White Plains" is derived from the Delaware River and then what was known as the Mohawk Valley. The first time that Europeans saw White Plains was on July 24, 1614 when Giovanni da Verrazzano passed through this area on his way to trade with the Native Americans. It wasn't until 1785 that White Plains became part of what would become Westchester County. Prior to that it was part of Albany County or Catskill Country. One of the first things Europeans did in here were build some fortifications for protection against Indian attacks during their journey westward. These included Fort Orange (now Orange) and Fort Nassau whichstand today on opposite ends of town off Old Route 9W between Plainview Road and Central Avenue. In 1806-7 General John Young led an army through this area during their invasion of Canada in order to overthrow its British occupiers. At one point he encamped at what is now plainview Rd and Central Ave where he built a small stockaded village called Fort Niagara which still stands today just across from Ft George State Park on Plainview Rd., though it has been greatly modified over time including being replaced by a factory complex! On October 20th 1792, Patriot general Benedict Arnold moved his headquarters from Saratoga to White Plains after successful operations against British forces near Albanytown in upstate New York (now Schenectady). This event helped lead to Putnam's Rebellion which ultimately failed due to lack of support from within Connecticut society as well as outside assistance provided by Great Britain

White Plains is a town located in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 68,746 at the 2010 census. It is the most populous incorporated municipality in New York State and it is also one of the largest towns in New York City. The first white settler in White Plains was George Washington Westervelt, who arrived here in 1814. In 1824, John A. Wise bought 1/3 of all the land comprising White Plains from Nicholas Astor for $1,000 cash. Wise's purchase made him one of the wealthiest men in America at that time and his family remains prominent today with assets totaling over $20 billion as of 2019. The town was originally named "Albany" after Albany County, New York which included much of what is now White Plains. However, on July 16, 1795 by an act of the General Assembly of New York (the first such act), White Plains became part of Westchester County and thus began its long history as a bedroom community for eastern Manhattanites attending high school or college near Times Square and other major metropolitan areas. In 1830s-1840s many wealthy new Yorkers moved into White Plains including Andrew Carnegie who built his mills there; Cornelius Vanderbilt II; James Buchanan Woodruff; Augustus SaintGaudens; William Cullen Bryant; and others. One reason for this growth was access to cheap farmland on Long Island Sound across from Modern-day Scarsdale – accessible only by boat or steamboat when water levels were high enough to allow navigation – which led to increased development around Lake Success (now played by Babylon Park). At various points during this time period some 125 businesses thrived along Nassau Avenue between Main Street and Scarsdale Boulevard while more than 100 residences were erected along Nassau Avenue between Main Street and Union Road during what has come to be known as "The Green Machine Age". The late 19th century saw a decline in commuter traffic due to rapid industrialization throughout western Westchester County but also because transportation improvements made traveling eastward easier via subway lines like the Fifth Avenue Line (later elevated) instead of cars or buses within easy reach for those living near Midtown Manhattan or Central Park South while continuing westward towards Buffalo (and later Syracuse) opened up new sections of western Westchester County including parts now known as Willingboro Township, Mount Pleasant Township etc., giving rise to a second "Green Machine Age" era characterized by heavier industry but also increasing suburban sprawl developments southward away from downtown neighborhoods becoming increasingly common until finally they were abolished by local zoning laws through annexation into larger neighboring municipalities beginning in 1965 when Whitestone Town Council annexed Maple Shade Township eastward following an effort spearheaded by then Mayor Edward Munchioness that sought unsuccessfully to keep Maple Shade Village separate from Whitestone despite overwhelming public opposition culminating with residents voting against annexation even though majority votes had been given for it). Whitestone currently occupies about two-thirds of what once constituted Albany village with singlefamily homes replaced by large multifamily buildings clustered around shopping centers providing jobsites close enough to both work mainline schools as well as their kids' neighborhood extracurricular activities if desired while preserving open space inside formal neighborhoods generally bounded by Bloomfield Hills on one side/northwest Bronx on another/east Long Island Sound on another while residential streets run perpendicular thereto creating something approaching a grid pattern although individual blocks may have more random appearance due to street namesakes like Dutchmans Neck Road rather than any specific function served herein such as being provisionally numbered starting at 202nd street northwesterly out from Clarkson Ave./Whitestone Rd./Smyrna Rd./Morningside Ave.).
