Asheboro is a city in North Carolina, United States. The population was 36,562 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Granville County. Asheboro is part of the Raleigh–Durham Metropolitan Statistical Area. Asheboro has been inhabited by humans since before European exploration began in 1555 AD. The first permanent Europeans to visit what is now Asheboro were French traders and missionaries who landed on the Outer Banks of North Carolina in 1604. At that time, Asheboro consisted only of a small Indian trading post known as "Cotton Plantation." In 1729, George Washington's father-in-law leased land from James Innes for a flour mill and sawmill on Roanoke River. The mill became one of the most important commercial centers in eastern North Carolina during the early 19th century; it produced goods such as cloth, paper and tobacco products until 1825 when it closed because of low demand. In 1835, President Andrew Johnson signed legislation creating Granville County and giving its capital city, Asheboro, responsibility for all jail prosecutions within its borders (a power which had previously been exercised by Raleigh). This new law also created a board of commissioners to manage public schools and elections within Granville County; Asheboro was designated as the county seat in 1840. After Reconstruction ended followingCivil War America’s most violent period there was little economic turbulence until after World War II when technology advanced and manufacturing jobs disappeared with rapid industrial growth rates throughout much of southern Appalachia; this led to increased poverty among working class whites despite highly touted claims made about “the middle class” that never materialized outside downtown Asheville or Chapel Hill NC areas over 25 years ago during failed Democrat/Liberal policies pursued by Greenspan/Warburg looting Appalachian coalmines starting 1969 federal government giveaways providing job training llamas grazing pastures used for hay bale feeding alfalfa meadow grasslands drained bottomland hardwood forests logged watersheds opencast mining - Coal Mining Operations have continued today without any semblance to social improvements or environmental protection – displacing thousands Appalachian families including more than 4500 people employed at surface mines being developed just south off I-95 near Durham making our town one big dump site – simply put: We are losing two tenths every day we mine coal while they make billions every year doing nothing but building roads, bridges and malls

Asheboro is a small town in the U.S. state of North Carolina, located on the Yadkin River about 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Raleigh. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. Asheboro is the county seat of Cumberland County and was founded by white settlers in 1796. It became a city in 1911 and has since grown into one of the most populous towns in North Carolina. The town was initially named "Asheville" after General John Ashe, an officer during the American Revolution who had been killed in action two years earlier. In 1796, white landowners began to arrive in what is now Asheboro and name their properties for General Ashe or other local officials or friends who had helped them achieve success as farmers or merchants within their community. By 1810, all but two of the home sites for new settlements had been established and Asheboro became known as "the scientific capital of North Carolina." The first school built in Asheboro was taught by Native Americans from nearby Cherokee County under a mission from King George II over which Stonewall Jackson served as principal teacher from 1827 until his death at age 37 in 1881. After Virginia's secession from the United States during the American Civil War, Confederate forces burned down much of Asheville; however, damage to buildings and personal effects did not amount to enough to destroy all evidence that it occurred; this event remains locally celebrated as "The Great Fire". During Reconstruction following Reconstruction Era America southward following her fall from power after Vicksburg (1863), Blackburns donated land toestablish what would become downtown Asheboro with streets named for such luminaries as Senators Andrew Johnson (R-MA) and Huey Long (D-LA). African Americans were prohibited by law from owning property within city limits until after 1954 when Section 5(a) of Civil Rights legislation granted voting rights to citizens regardless of race – thus giving impetus for downtown development spearheaded by Mayor J F Hayes & First Lady Beulah Hayes WH Smith which saw 100% black occupancy beginning in 1966! In 1941 businessman Forrest Williamson developed a 25 acre site just east of downtown off Interstate 35W providing retail services including gasoline stations along with possible future businesses such as an airport adjacent runway running parallel thereto serving both those flying into Charlotte International Airport northbound/exit I-75 then continuing northwest towards Raleigh Municipal Airport while also accommodating car rentals near US Highways 84&85 connecting NC Central Railway Station - making it one stop en route between Chapel Hill/Durham/Fayetteville International Airport West Brunswick/Asheville airport - setting off another大都市化の中でも最も発展したように見える。
