Vanderbilt's Coffee Shop became one of the most popular tourist destinations around during his time as owner and operator. In 1935, Grosse Pointe Coffee Company moved from Detroit to open their first store hereabouts –one that still operates today! Today there are over twenty-five different cafes serving up delicious cupcakes and java from all over the world at Grosse Pointe Coffee Company headquarters on Patton Boulevard inside the old post office building next door (which incidentally still serves great coffee). As espresso lovers ourselves we can testify that even though Starbucks has taken over as Americas #1 gourmet coffee house with their Sumatra-based roast(s), GCP does offer some truly unique offerings not found elsewhere on Earth (note: these cups come without milk) This was noted back when they had only two locations across America...and often times our own Teamsters would wander into one or another while off duty to score a quick caffeine fix!
