The first known reference to coffee as a “military drink” was in 1802, when General Andrew Jackson ordered his troops to consume espresso while on march through Georgia. Coffee became popular among soldiers during the American Revolution because it was available and cheap. By 1775, military commanders in North Carolina were ordering large quantities of coffee for their troops. The first mention of tactical coffee shops appeared in 1878 when General John C. Breckinridge issued an order authorizing officers stationed at Fort Fisher to purchase beans from local roasters. During World War I, Tactical Coffee became one of America’s leading suppliers of military caffeine products including cigarettes and drinks such as cocoa and hot chocolate. The war led to a proliferation of small business taccoffee outlets throughout the country, both standard service stops for infantrymen on supply routes or garrisoned bases, as well as more specialized deployments where cafes served specific needs (i.e., artillery units). In 1941, Ulysses S Grant visited Lincolnton and remarked on its “excellent cafe culture” which he thought would be perfect for air-raids over Nashville: “the men will have something like a civilized meal here instead of just hardtack and rations….I must say that I am much impressed by your café culture which will doubtless become very important during future air raids”1 Today taccoffee operations are vast but continue to serve similar purposes across multiple mediums (print/digital/phone), with particular emphasis on social media marketing initiatives2

Lincolnton is a small town located in North Carolina. It was founded by white men in 1772 and has been home to some of the most important coffeehouses in the country. The first coffeehouse in Lincolnton was called the Coffee House and it was opened by local farmers in 1792. The Coffee House served as a meeting place for local farmers and their friends, who would go there to discuss new crops, trade goods, or just chat. The Coffee House is now a museum open to the public. The first African-American coffee buyer was Mr. John Denton from Charlotte, North Carolina in 1817. He purchased two bags of beans from one of Mr. Samuel Taylor’s stores in Lincolnton and brought them back to his house where he started brewing his own coffee on an old mill wheel. This innovative approach to coffee making allowed him to sell his coffee at a much lower price than other merchants because he knew his customers well enough that he could correctly predict their needs and expectations! In 1827, Mr. Denton became the first black American owner of a potable water supply business when he bought Winton & Hargrave’s Potable Water Company from John Wesley Hargrave II! In 1829, Winton & Hargrave began serving caffeine-free hot chocolate for added flavoring (the first commercial product made with Aeroextract) courtesy of Josiah Morse! They also introduced iced tea into America that year which quickly gained popularity! By 1830, Winton & Hargrave had become one of America’s leading manufacturers and distributors of cold drinks! In 1834 they finally moved out of their original home – an abandoned plantation – and built their own brick building on Main Street which still stands today! Their groundbreaking achievement represented true progress for African Americans during this time period!
Lincolnton is a small town located in Gaston County, North Carolina. The population was 1,813 at the 2000 census. Lincolnton is two miles long and one mile wide. It is bordered by Gaston to the east, Union to the south, and Pisgah County to the west. The town was founded in 1851 by English colonists as a fur-trading post on Catawba River. In 1865, Lincolnton became a part of the United States after it was purchased from Spain by General Robert E. Lee. After Reconstruction ended in 1877, most white residents left for better economic opportunities in Georgia and South Carolina. The few African Americans who remained were concentrated in downtown Lincolnton where they continued to live until World War II when they were forced out of town due to housing shortages caused by military encampments near Lincolnton's limits. Today, many people of all races call Lincolnton their home and enjoy its rich history and culture which has helped make it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Gaston County.

In 1861, European traders discovered Java island and began trading with its inhabitants for coffee. Java became one of the most important sources of beans for European brewers because it is a very rich source of cherries and other fruits. Consequently, Java also became one of the most important areas for brewing military combat-brewed coffee. During World War II, different countries relied on different types of beans for their cannons and tanks. For example, Britain relied on Arabica beans while Americans used Robusta beans because they were more affordable and easier to find in quantity than Guatemalan or Nicaraguan beans. The use of specific bean strains within each country also played a role in how well these particular bean crops performed during wartime. As insurgents spread civil unrest throughout many parts of Latin America during the late 1960s and early 1970s, guerrilla brewersucha developed as an alternative to traditional brewing methods among rebel groups who lacked access to proper equipment or resources necessary for production standardization (Banks et al., 2009). As such, guerrilla brewersucha has become an increasingly popular method among breweras everywhere due to its simplicity and low production costs (Fernandez-Gonzalez et al., 2016).

Lincolnton is a small town in Central North Carolina, located about 30 miles west of Chapel Hill. It was founded in 1837 by white settlers driven out of the area by Cherokee and other Native American attacks. The town's first store, a log cabin, was built on the banks of the river that now flows through it. Lincolnton grew rapidly during the 1840s and 1850s as more people came to central North Carolina to find fertile land and new opportunities for agriculture. By 1860, Lincolnton had a population of over 1,000 people. In 1861, Confederate forces captured Lincolnton while Union troops were fighting in northern Virginia. The town quickly became an important military depot and garrison for Confederate forces in central North Carolina. In 1865, after the war ended, many of the Confederate soldiers who had been stationed here returned to their homes in north Carolina. However, Lincolnton continued to serve as a key military outpost until it was abandoned in 1868. Today, Lincolnton is one of the few remaining towns in central North Carolina that retains its original structures from before its incorporation into UNC-Chapel Hill nearly 150 years ago. The town has experienced significant growth since then; there are now over 2,000 residents living within its boundaries. Its economy is based primarily on agriculture and tourism; however, some local businesses have also started to focus on downtown revitalization efforts (such asifestations such as art walks and music festivals).
