The United States Air Force deployed a gift to Spring Lake, North Carolina in memory of fallen service members. The gift was a C-130 Hercules transport plane. The plane had been donated by the flying community and the air force. It was flown into the town on Saturday, May 25th and took off Sunday, May 26th carrying a collection of military equipment and supplies for local troops. The C-130 Hercules arrived at about 10:00am on Sunday morning and unloaded its cargo. There were many servicemen and women who received items from the air force including artillery rounds, armored vehicles, tents,cooking supplies, rifles and more. Many people in Spring Lake were very surprised to receive such a large shipment from the air force. The arrival of the C-130 is an important day for those impacted by war or conflict. It brings comfort to those who have lost loved ones in action and it provides support to our troops fighting overseas.
