Brunswick is a small town in the Ohio Valley region of Eastern Pennsylvania. It straddles the border of Westmoreland County and Butler County. The population was 5,814 at the 2010 census. Brunswick was founded by English settlers in 1795 as a post office on the Scioto River. The name comes from Brunswick Township, in Mercer County, Ohio. The first store opened in 1803 and the first school in 1807. In 1861, the railroad arrived and quickly brought people and businesses to town; it had a population of 1,500 by 1870. Many manufacturing plants were located here during World War II, when large amounts of munitions were produced; these factories have since closed down or been converted into apartments or offices. By 1990, however, Brunswick's manufacturing sector had dwindled to just two small businesses making components for cars and electronic products; this decline has not been reversed since then.

Brunswick, Ohio is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio and is the seat of Mahoning County. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It lies on the southern edge of the coalfields that produce coal for Cleveland and other cities, and it has been an important coal-mining community since before America became a republic. In 1814, Englishman John Dennison donated land to form what would become Brunswick Township; both men were from nearby Greenville Township in Holmes County. The first recorded settler in what is today Brunswick was George Washington Stephenson, who arrived there on July 4, 1795 with his family from Westmoreland County near Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Stephenson had come to survey possible sites for a canal route through central Ohio and he initialed a plat for Brunswick Township on February 3, 1796. In that same year Jethro Gibbs built a cabin hereabouts which still stands as one of the few dwellings remaining in town today (the others being some frame buildings constructed by early residents). In 1814 John Dennison donated land to form what would become Brunswick Township; both men were from nearby Greenville Township in Holmes County John Pemberton also founded Pemberton Manufacturing Company hereabouts when he moved from Wilkes-Barre, PA in 1876 to open his largest flour mill ever built The first store opened hereabouts in 1879 by Halsey & Brown Hardware In 1907 Raymond Wiegand organized the American Iron and Coal Company which mined coal until its bankruptcy in 1912 Dennis Quigley purchased Quigley's Millinery shop located at 277 High Street from Mrs. Gertrude Weisbach sometime after 1986 In 1990 Michael Neumann bought Quigley's insurance business located at 307 North Main Street from Mrs. Gertrude Weisbach
Brunswick, Ohio is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Summit County. The population was 41,681 at the 2010 census. It lies on the Great Miami River north of Cincinnati and east of Dayton. The downtown area is home to the University of Akron, one of two public universities in Greater Cleveland. As early as 1795, settlers in what is now Brunswick were petitioning for protection from Native Americans who were terrorizing the area. In 1802, a group of British soldiers under Lieutenant Colonel George Washington landed on an island near present-day Brunswick and burned crops before departing without finding any inhabitants or animals. On July 4, 1803, General Wayne's army fought its way through Indian resistance to capture Battle Creek Bridge over the Miami River atpresent-day Cincinnati; this event became known as "The Battle of Chickamauga." In 1825, United States Surveyor General James Wilkinson surveyed land east of present-day Brunswick and south of Dayton that would become part of what is now Summit County. He named it after lieutenant colonel John Pemberton (1768-1839), captain generalof militia during President George Washington's last term (1799-1800). In 1830, surveyor general James Kapp surveyed another parcel northeast of Brunswick which he named Delaware County after his native Delaware colony in North America (now Pennsylvania). In 1834–35, township 5 Sidney was organized into a village called Newbern by trustees Robert Falconer and Samuel Morse; it was abandoned in 1840 when new township 5 Sidney was formed within Newbern Township boundaries. In 1847–49, three villages were organized: Lebanon Village northwest of town center served by trustee Elijah Coleman; Norwalk Village southeast off road serving mainly agricultural purposes by trustees Levi Coffin and Elias Granger; and Stroudsburg northeast off road serving mostly manufacturing purposes by trustees Daniel Lambert and Jeremiah Dearborn. A post office called Norwalk existed from 1850 until 1865.; Stroudsburg also had a jail built between 1861 and 1865., When Ohio became a state in 1903 it created four rural townships: Baldwin Township including parts occupied by Norwalk Village/Stroudsburg Township; Athens Township including parts occupied by Lebanon Village/Norwick Village; Defiance Township including parts occupied by Baldwin Township/Athens Township; Lawrence Township including part occupied by Defiance Township/Lawrenceshire.) On February 14, 1907 they changed their name back to "Brunswick" after being ratified as an incorporated city with full powers under The City charter signed on November 3rd 1907
