Mansfield, Ohio was first settled in 1796 by John Mansfield, who named the community after himself. The town was originally called Horseshoe Bend and it was moved to its current location in 1802. In 1815, Mansfield became the capital of Ohio and it remained so until 1912 when Columbus took over that role. In 1870, the Cleveland Manufacturing Company began producing coffee beans in Mansfield. That same year, The Cincinnati Coffee Company began distributing coffee products throughout Ohio. By 1914, both companies had merged into the National Coffee Corporation. In 1928, the company changed its name to The Daily News Printing Company and it continued publishing newspapers until 1982. Today, there are several coffee shops located in Mansfield including Starbucks and Peet's Coffee. Additionally, there is a grocery store located within walking distance of most of the businesses mentioned above as well as a few restaurants that serve coffee such as Blue Bottle Coffee and Joe's Cafe .
Mansfield is a town in the southern part of Ohio and is the seat of Mansfield Township. The population was 452 at the 2010 census. It lies east of downtown Cincinnati on the Scioto River, between Dayton and Brownstown. The first Europeans to visit Mansfield were French traders in 1795. In 1812, General Cincinnatus Mansfield founded an agricultural community here to provide food for his army during the War of 1812. There was also a sawmill and gristmill here until 1862 when they were replaced by a modern flour mill. In 1861, railroad construction began through this area and soon Mansfield had become one of eastern Ohio's most important towns. In 1870, John Dyer built what is now known as Mansfield State High School; it became one of Ohio's largest high schools and remains so today. In 1911, local officials decided to change the name from "MansFIELD" to "Mansfeld". This was because John Dyer had bought land here in 1875 which he used for a farmstead called "Mansfeld", later renamed "Dyer Farms". Today, Mansellians are represented by three members on the Clark County Board of Education: Kevin Maher (District 3), Kathy Hannon (District 5), and Steve Biegel (District 8). Additionally, there are many businesses located throughout town that are managed or operated by residents or their families including The Paper Millinery & Newsstand on Main Street which has been run by its current owners since 1978; Village Store on Springdale Avenue serving both locals and visitors since 1917; Olde Hickory Pizza founder Bob Karpf’s old restaurant/pizza parlor at 246 Elmwood Avenue opened in 1984 after thirty years closed down in 2000; Big Red Drugstore at 422 Elmwood Avenue reopened in 2004 after being closed for many years due to lack of business; as well as several dozen other small businesses that make up what is typically an organized chaos with no central governing body except occasional meetings between management/owners/ Residents held every few months or so among themselves rather than annually like most municipalities do!

Mansfield, Ohio is a town in Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,812 at the 2010 census. Mansfield was founded in 1810 by John Mansfield and James D. Wellman. It was named for General George Washington's younger brother-in-law, Colonel Timothy Mansfield. On April 20, 1865, during the American Civil War, Confederate forces burned down the town courthouse and most of the other buildings in what is now called "The Great Fire of 1865." The damage done to the town was so great that it never recovered. In 1892, Mansfield became one of the towns in Mahoning County to become part of the new city of Cleveland. Today, Mansfield is primarily a agricultural community with some light industrial activity. The local paper mill closed in 1984 but has been restored and currently operates as an art center and museum; it also happens to be one of only two such mills still operating in Northeast Ohio.
