Struthers, Ohio is a census-designated place in Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,836 at the 2010 census. It lies northeast of Cleveland on the south side of the Cuyahoga River. The name " Struthers" was given to the town by General George Washington in 1794 when he and his army passed through the area on their way from West Point to New York City. The original settlers were farmers who built homes around a small creek that ran through the town. In 1824, Struthers became a village after it was organized as part of the township of Cleveland. On May 3, 1892, Struthers' incorporation as a city made it one of Cleveland's five cities. The first struts (a type of shoe) were made in Struthers by John Purdy and James Fenton in 1810. A cotton gin was erected here in 1830 and became known as the Purdy–Fenton Gin Works; it still exists and is open to visitors today. In 1865, Julius Rosenwald purchased land north of downtown for an agricultural college that he called Fairfield University; but due to financial difficulties he sold it off in 1901 to Jens Jensen for $2 million dollars ($). Rosenwald also donated land east of downtown for what is now FirstEnergy Stadium/Bankers Life Fieldhouse complex which opened in 2002 and houses both football and basketball games during the NFL season as well as concerts and other events throughout the year including NHL games between Columbus Blue Jacketsand Detroit Red Wingsoccasionally there are soccer matches or hockey tournaments played on this property too! In 1903,struths established Lake Erie Airlines with two planes leased from American Airways based out of its new tower at 4235 Euclid Avenue which served passengers until 1945 when American closed its doors permanently! After years of anticipation many people gathered around Euclid Avenue where work began on building an airport only to have construction delay after delay due to World War II! Finally starting construction shortly before Christmas 1941 just before America reopened its doors finally finished just weeks before Christmas 1942!!! Today you can see all evidence including tools used during construction still standing today at 4235 Euclid Ave! What an amazing story that must have seemed impossible back then!!

Struthers, Ohio is a small town located in Franklin County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,878 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbus metropolitan area and has a historic district that includes many of the original buildings in Struthers. The first white settlers in Struthers were Samuel Townsend and his wife Esther who arrived in 1795. They built a cabin on the east side of town. In 1802, they bought land from the Indians and started to build a house on it. The first school was established in Struthers in 1806 by Reverend John Overington. In 1812, Father Anthony Soto came to Struthers and built a chapel which served as the first church building. In 1814, Drury Lumber Company founded their mill here with lumber from Cincinnati. The company soon became very successful and began producing furniture for local households as well as exporting products to other parts of the United States including England and Canada. By 1880, they had laid down over 20 miles of track across strutherstown township making it one of America's most important transportation centers for goods moving between factories and marketplaces throughout central Ohio. In 1865-1866 Commodore David Farragut visited Strutherstown during his trip around central Ohio looking for new naval installations after learning about an American treasure being guarded at Astoria Point on Lake Erie by British forces under Commodore Nicholas Edward Comstock (Farragut's mentor). Commodore Farragut ordered all shipping stopped off Ashland Peninsula due to fears that there might be treasure hidden inside shipscarrying coal from Hancock County into Canandaigua Harbor! Commodore FarragUTs visit generated great excitement among residents because no one knew what could possibly be found! After this visit he also ordered all military stores closed down atstrutherstown so that civilians could no longer purchase supplies unobserved!. It was not until 1969 when some locals learned about Roycroft Museum Collection - Ancient Artifact research project which focused on documentingstrutherstown history through artifacts excavated during 1967 excavation season Pioneer Cabin Site Excavation which revealed 4 Archaic Pottery vessels dating back to 1000 AD! This discovery yielded tremendous insight into early village life as well as evidence of trade relationships with other nearby villages! Further excavations have since revealed even more ancient objects including 15 projectile pointsdating back to 2500 BC!!! What ensued was an incredible find offering unique insights into village life during Archaic period!!
