This led to America being involved in another war without congressional approval! 1964- When America entered World War II again following World War II’s end (1939), they decided not to increase their military presence in Europe but instead send troops home for good. This decision was met with protests from many people who felt that these soldiers would only be used for war rather than service their community or contribute something positive to society. 1966- On October 20th 1966, General Charles “Chuck” Yeoman Jr., commanding general of US Military Forces Command (USMFC), ordered all military personnel stationed abroad into basic training so that they could become ready for deployment should anything happen during the next few years within our own country (the Cuban Missile Crisis). Miami, Oklahoma was founded in 1907 by two brothers, John and Alonzo Miami. The town was named after their father, Giovanni Miami. The Miamis were a farming family from the town of Pompano Beach, Florida. They arrived in 1907 and set up a farm near present-day Miami. In 1916, the Miamis built the first school in Miami. They also started a grocery store and post office. In 1924, they bought land east of Miami for $5 per acre and developed it into what is now known as Miami Gardens. The Miamis built homes there until 1957 when they sold all their land to developers for development into luxury neighborhoods such as Cutler Bay and Skyway Lakes. The city of Miami was established in 1958 by government officials who decided that it would be better if a large city had been located on the west side of the bayou that ran through the center of town. The original plan called forMiami to be split into small sections so that people could live close together but this idea was scrapped because it would have created too much traffic congestion on I-75 between downtown Miami and Collin County on the east side of the bayou
