Shawnee was a village in Rogers County, Oklahoma, United States. It was founded on October 22, 1881 by farmers J.D. Lewis and W.H. Stephenson as part of the Shawnee Indian Agent District. It had a population of 131 in 1890 and declined to 30 in 1910 due to the Panic of 1893 and the repeal of the Dawes Act that granted land to Indians at low prices. In 1907 Shawnee merged with nearby Muskogee with a population of 1,500. The two towns are now known as Shawnee Village and Muskogee Village
