Shawnee coffee started out as a small-scale operation in the early 1990s. The first farmers market location was in the plaza off of Elm Street. At the time, it was one of the only places to buy coffee in town. The current Shawnee Coffee company began in 2007 when two friends decided to open their own business together. The first shop was located on Main Street and served delicious coffee until they moved to their current location on Northwest Expressway just outside of town. Today, Shawnee Coffee is one of the most popular businesses in town with more than 10 locations across Oklahoma and Kansas. They serve up delicious cupcakes, donuts, pastries, salads and sandwiches all day long!
Shawnee is a small town located in the panhandle of Oklahoma. The population was 1,868 as of the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Shawnee County and one of two cities in the Kaw Valley Micropolitan Statistical Area. The other city is Anadarko. The area that now Shawnee was first settled by Native Americans in the 18th century. At its peak, Shawnee had an population of about 10,000 people. By 1890, however, most Native American residents had left for various reasons, including pressure from European settlers and advances in white technology. Only a few hundred native-born residents remain today who share some cultural ties to their ancestors.Most people in Shawnee are Protestants – Catholics are also present but largely fewer due to recent conversions and missionary work among indigenous peoples since 2001 when Oklahoma became a Catholic state. In 1902, Shawnee was incorporated as a town under the name "Anadarko". In 1907 it changed its name to "Shawnee" after James Atherton Shawne (1847-1921), an early settler who donated land for the town's construction and supervised its growth until his death four years later at age 74. In 1950s and 1960s many local businesses were closed because of shifted production to larger towns such as El Reno or Tulsa; this change had little impact on shopping patterns within Shawnee itself which remained primarily centered around downtown and business districts along First Avenue North between West Main Street and South Seventh Street NW (now known as Vine Street NW). During these decades there were several attempts by entrepreneurs to start multiple small businesses within one location - this never seemed to happen because more often than not business establishment grew out of alliances formed during earlier economic times when firms could count on strong customer base (and continued access to credit) from friends or family members within hometown communities like their own - something that still exists today among local businessmen outside large metropolitan areas where access to capital has become increasingly difficult or impossible

The Shawnee Nation was formed in 1907 when a group of Shawnee Indians united with other tribes to form the Oklahoma Indian Territory. The Treaty of Medicine Lodge was signed by representatives from the United States and Great Britain, and it created a government for the Indians. It also gave them land in Oklahoma that they could use for hunting, fishing, farming, and political purposes. Today, the Shawnee Nation is made up of six clans: Muskogee (the least populous clan), Creek (second most populous), Otoe (third most populous), Seminole (fourth most populous), Choctaw (fifth most populous), and Chickasaw (sixth most populous). The tribe has an economy that relies heavily on hunting, fishing, agriculture,and trade with surrounding states.
