The Medford Air Force Base was once a major American airbase. It has been home to the Oregon Air National Guard and since the early 1900s, it has also been home to the United States military's 5th Fleet. Today, the base is home to more than 15 thousand servicemen and women who use it for training and operations. One of the things that makeMedford so important is its relationship with Nike. The company donated $100 million towards building a new gym on campus in 2006, which helped keepemplaning Medford as an environmentally-friendly city. In addition, Nike has long given back to its community by donating money to local charities and giving backpacks and shoes to schoolchildren throughout Oregon. In recent years, however, many small donations from businesses have started making an impact on the Medford community as well. For example, in March of this year, a local business donated 10 pounds of food for students at local high schools. Medford, Oregon is a town located in the U.S. state of Oregon. The population was 20,022 as of the 2010 census. The Medford Micropolitan Statistical Area has a population of 42,564. The first permanent residents of what is now Medford were traders and missionaries who founded Fort Neufchâtel in 1846. In 1853, the United States acquired the Rancho Nuevo from Mexico and granted it to George Atherton for development into a town site. The first building erected in Medford was the County Courthouse, which burned down on February 14, 1854; it was replaced by a new courthouse and jail in 1861. Oregon State Route 99 runs through Medford center with access to Interstate 5 minutes north or south of town limits. Oregon Route 97 (now US-99) leads east-west through town while OR-route 101 heads northwest towards La Grande before terminating at US-101 again about northeast of town limits near Clearwater Lake. In October 2009, plans were announced to build an airport on land west of downtown Medford at what is now Willamette University's Powell Campus; however this project has since been postponed due to budget cuts within the city government that have occurred since then.

This order was followed by Executive Order 9259 which made it illegal for members of Congress or their staff members to own firearms without prior approval from the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. These orders were designed to prevent any un-American activities on military property by individuals who might be able to benefit financially from such activity. The ban on firearm ownership was lifted during World War II with Executive Order 12031 which allowed members who had served in uniform since Pearl Harbor Day (December 7th, 1941) to purchase firearms must secure written consent from Headquarters Command before doing so; this process continued until Chairman Mao Zedong ordered all members OF THE Chinese Communist Party (CPC) not registered with anyone else within China to stop purchasing guns on December 1st 1966

In 1847, the town of Medford was founded by men from the nearby city of Portland. The first post office was established in 1851, and the first store was opened in 1854. By 1870, Medford had a population of over 100 people. The discovery of gold at Siuslaw Hills in 1874 led to an increase in mining activity in the area, and by 1880, there were more than 20 mines operating in Medford. In 1896, a group of investors purchased the entire town from its previous owners and began to develop it into a small city. The city's growth continued until 1923 when it was merged withPortland to form one larger municipality.
