He shot an animal named "Milk" and it did not die. In 1903, Arthur Godfrey built a shotgun range in Sherwood and started selling shotguns there. In 1906, Julius Schindler moved to Sherwood from Germany and started his own grocery store called "Schindler's", which would become one of the most important businesses in the town. In 1951, Lewis Hahn opened up his shooting gallery on Second Street near Jefferson Boulevard and soon became known as one of the best shooters in America.
