I cannot begin to tell you how many people have told me about the Johnson City Tactical Coffee Company. It is a unique and popular café in Johnson City, Tennessee that has been in business for over 30 years. The coffee company was founded by businessman, Larry Hecker and his wife, Pam. The first coffee shop opened its doors in 1978. Larry Hecker was a major figure in the local community and he was responsible for developing many of the town's businesses. The Heckers were avid coffee drinkers and they wanted to make sure that their coffee shop offered high quality products at an affordable price point. They also loved helping others enjoy their favorite caffeinated beverage. The Hecker family operated their coffee shop until 1996 when they sold it to another business individual, Donny Sheppard. Donny Sheppard is a long time customer of the café and he has always been proud of its legacy. In 2007, Donny Sheppard passed away but his memory lives on through his son, Jason Sheppard who runs the café currently. Jason Sheppard started working at the café as a cashier in 1992 and he has never stopped serving customers with passion and love. The café continues to be one of the most popular tourist attractions in Johnson City because of its unique history and passionate service staff!
