Coffee has been a part of the Soddy Daisy community for over 100 years. The first coffee shop in town was opened in 1892 by Mr. and Mrs. Witherspoon. The early coffee shops served local farmers and their customers who would come to the shop for a pot of coffee, cookies, or bread. In 1924, the first drive-in Coffee House was opened in town and continues to serve today as an important part of the community life. In 1988, Joe's Coffee opened up shop in downtown Soddy Daisy and quickly became known as one of the top coffee shops in Tennessee. Joe's is now closed but their legacy lives on through their famous cupcakes which are still enjoyed by locals and tourists alike today!

Soddy Daisy is a small town in the U.S. state of Tennessee, located in Decatur County. The population was 1,717 at the 2010 census. Soddy Daisy has been home to many famous people, including singer Willie Nelson and actor/director Clint Eastwood. The first settlement in what is now Decatur County was made by James Soddy and his family on December 5, 1802, near present-day Decatur City. When Nashville began to grow rapidly after being founded by General Andrew Jackson on March 15, 1819, most of the residents of the area decided to move westward into what is now Knoxville and join forces with Jackson's army during the Battle of Knob Hill. James Soddy chose instead to stay behind and build a new community called "Soddy Daisy". In 1825, James Soddy married Minerva Glennie who had come from nearby Tullahoma (now part of Chattanooga). They would eventually have five children: Minerva (1826-1905), Fayette (1828-1900), Alice (1830-1920), John Denton (1832-1914) and Atticus Finch (1835-1900). In 1861, when Tennessee seceded from the United States and became an independent country known as ConfederateTennessee, Soddy Daisy remained staunchly Unionist through much of the war. However, upon learning that his wife wasUnionist too – she had changed her alignment since their initial marriage – he decided to break with her for political reasons. He moved his family back to UnionistTennessee but continued to live there until his death in 1905. After James Soddy's death however, things quickly changed around here; over time it became more Republican than Democratic and many aspects such as architecture have been influenced by this trendism(Some say because President Franklin D Roosevelt visited here while he was Governor of New York). After World War II ended however some businesspeople returned which led to increased population growth due to easy access to services like healthcare which then stimulated economic development which helped pay off social programs like education for all citizens like water fluoridation etcetera In recent years various businesses have closed or relocated out there leaving less employment opportunities so although it still has a lot going for it overall its not really doing well anymore
Soddy Daisy was founded on February 17, 1853 by John Soddy. The original location for the town was in a salt lick on the edge of the Cumberland Plateau. In 1876, Soddy Daisy became an incorporated municipality and in 1915 it became a city.
