Belton, Texas is a small town located in theTX Panhandle. It was founded in 1879 by James W. Phillips and has been home to many rifle shooters over the years. The town was also the site of the first open-air shooting competition in America. Today, Belton is home to several rifle ranges and shotgun ranges as well as numerous gun shows and rifle tournaments each year. One of the earliest snipers in Belton was Johnnie Walker who formed a team with local man Harry Haught to shoot at rabbits during his rounds around town. By 1903, Walker had moved on to other pursuits but Killian Byrne Lorenz continued practicing with Walker’s old team until their deaths in 1908. In 1911, Benjamin Fenton bought 3 acres of land near Belmont for use as a hunting preserve and named it “Belmont Park” after his wife (the same woman who gave birth to him). From then until 1959, when it was leased back to Phillips for use as a recreational ground for school children, Belmont Park served as one of Texas’s most popular shooting destinations. During World War II, manybelton residents volunteered their time and resources to help fund aircraft production at nearby Dallas Air Force Base. Many rifles were made here including those used by General George Patton during WWII himself; these rifles are now part of the collections of both Patton Museum & Library and American Military History Museum respectively In 1957, Phillipss sold his interest in Belmont Park to Rube Goldberg Rifle Association which continues to operate it today . The association holds various events there annually including target practice/hunting matches/shootout competitions among others Today marks an interesting milestone for shooter gift history; this is the first time that someone has ever donated an entire arsenal (guns or ammunition) from one collection into another! This donation came about due to a charity event being hosted by Rube Goldberg Rifle Association which collected firearms from across America in orderto auction them off off beginning July 1st

Belton experienced significant growth during its time as the county seat because it became an important commercial center for surrounding townships and counties due to its location at the crossroads of two major railroads:the Santa Fe Railway (now known as El Paso Railroad) andthe Houston & Galveston Railroad (now known as Gulf Coast Railroad). Additionally, BelTON played an important role in southern Texan culture through its establishment of numerous schools and cultural events that have shaped both local residents and visitors alike over the years!
