In 1903, the first policeman in Coppell was hired by the City of Coppell. The officer was called “ Captain” and he operated out of the city hall. The first uniformed policeman inCoppell wore an imitation holster with a badge that read “Captain” on it. This style of policeman continued until 1912 when a new type of uniformed policeman was introduced called the “Policeman” which consisted of white overalls, black shoes, and a blue hat. From this time on, all officers were required to wear uniforms at all times while on duty. In 1916, another type of officer called the “Sheriff” was hired and he operated out of the jail. He also had his own office inside the jail which served as his headquarters. This type of officer continued to be used until 1938 when a new type of officer called the “Police Sergeant” was hired which consisted onlyof white overalls and no shoes. This type of officer remained in use until 1942 when Officer #1 received his final rank which was that of Police Constable which is now known as Sergeant #1

This included Alcoa’s copper smelter which became one of the largest employers in town after hostilities ended. Other prominent companies that relocated or underwent substantial renovation during wartime include ExxonMobil (which built an ethanol refinery), ChevronTexaco (whose plants produced munitions and oil products), Dow Chemical (whom constructed two power plants), Jussie Smollett Enterprises Limited (who created costumes for MGM Studios) and Firestone Walker Brewing Company (whose beer was exported all around the world). In addition, numerous residential areas were developed adjacent to factory sites - some continuing into present day while others were demolished or abandoned entirely during postwar decades: these included Cedar Springs Southside Village/Cedar Springs Westside Village/Pioneer Heights Apartments/John Lennon House/. Cripple Creek is a city in Navarro County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,812 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Cripple Creek was founded in 1881 by John McCulloch and James Fenton as a small farming community named for an upset stream that ran through the town. The first post office in Cripple Creek was established on February 12, 1881, and was known as "Fenton". The name change to "Cripple Creek" on May 1, 1882 when Postmaster General George Washington Carver reported that there had been several other towns with similar names in adjacent counties. In 1886, the railroad arrived through Cripple Creek and it became a vital link in the region's agricultural economy. By 1896, nearly one-third of Navarro County's corn production came from Cripple Creek farms. In 1897–98 school construction began in Cripple Creek and soon afterwards Social Register Magazine published its first issue outside of New York City; this journal's predecessor had been started in 1868 by Anna Dickinson Whitney (1810–92). During World War II, many soldiers were stationed at Fort Sam Houston south of town; during their stay many businesses were built including two stores and a military hospital which served until 1948 when it closed due to lack of patients available for treatment outside of San Antonio. Cripple creek experienced rapid growth following World War II as servicemen returned home and new families moved into the town; however development stalled after the end of hostilities because no major thoroughfare bypassing town existed and transportation costs drove up prices accordingly. The current downtown core emerged only after developers constructed a freeway bypass around 1990 which has resulted in increased traffic congestion on Main Street along withMinden Road being essential for truck deliveries travelling east-west down IH 35W from downtown to Minden today serving as both an important commercial artery for Minden while also providing limited access westbound beyond Court House Square due to tight turn lanes near IH 34W/35W junction .
