The Corinth County Coast Guard Station was established in 1915 and has played a significant role in the protection of the Gulf of Mexico and its shores for more than 100 years. The Station is staffed by both coast guard personnel and civilians who provide assistance during emergencies. In 1967, the Coast Guard constructed the first weather station onshore in Texas. This facility continues to be used today to help monitor the Gulf of Mexico and other coastal areas. In 1984, it was decided that an attached helicopter squadron would be necessary to protect coastal communities from potential damage caused by Hurricane Rita. The Squadron was born and began operations at the Coast Guard Station in Corinth. Today, with over 120 squadrons across Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Puerto Rico providing support during emergencies such as hurricanes Katrina (2005), Rita (2004) and Jose (2011), the Coast Guard Station is one of America's leading service providers during national disasters.

Corinth, Texas is a small town in Hudspeth County, Texas. The population was 1,749 at the 2010 census. It is located in the Mid-American region and is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The name "Corpus Christi" comes from Spanish meaning "Churchtown". Corinth was founded in 1887 by Captain John Withers as a trading post on what is now FM 1960. Corinth's first store was built on Commerce Street and it remains one of the most active shopping centers in the community today. Corpus Christi's rich history dates back to its incorporation as a town on November 3, 1887. At that time, it consisted of just 6 homes and 12 outbuildings. The town grew rapidly after it incorporated, thanks to new businesses such as a grocery store and hotel. In 1912, Corinth became the county seat of Hudspeth County after being chosen over Lebanon by an election held on November 5th. The choice was based upon petitioning residents and drawing lots among themselves. The growth of Corinth continued through World War II until 1945 when it reached its peak due to nearby shipping ports which supported wartime production needs such as munitions manufacturing and shipbuilding. After the war ended, economic instability caused many factories to close or move out of town while other businesses closed because they could not compete with local competitors offering lower prices for goods produced within radius of Corpus Christi. By 1990, Corinth had only 1 restaurant remaining open downtown along with 2 convenience stores and no other commercial activity aside from agriculture operations which accounted for about 60% of total sales that year according to city records obtained from Texas A&M University Press Studies in History & Politics (Vol III: No 4). However, things began to change around 2000 when job growth exploded due in large part to offshore oil production occurring off their coastlines including Refinery #5 which created some much needed employment opportunities for locals during this period During this time period also saw strong investments into infrastructure including new roads and bridges; renovating existing buildings; developing new areas such as downtown; creating new jobs opportunities through private enterprise;and providing public amenities like libraries and parks

The first gift from the government was an old warship, the USS Constitution, which was donated by George Washington in 1794. In 1802, the United States Congress passed an act that provided for the erection of two coast guard stations on Long Island and New Jersey. These stations were known as Point Lookout and Governors Island. In 1824, Commodore James Fenton recommended that the Government provide a boatload of presents for members of congress who had gone on shore leave at Staten Island during their term as legislators. This was followed by another act in 1830 which allowed gift giving to members of the military on shore leave within easy distance of their homes. In 1835, Captain John D’Ita presented commandant David Dixon with a sword as a gift for his services to humanity at sea during the Spanish-American War (1898). In 1886, Rear Admiral Julius Rosenwald presented Commandant Augustus Mapes with an elaborate gold watch chain as part of his Christmas present yearbook entry. In 1907, Rear Admiral William Halsey presented Commandant Charles Waddell with a bronze crossbow bolt as part of his Christmas present yearbook entry In 1912 Commander Edward "Doc" Smith presented Commandant Franklin Pogue with a silver cupola telescope as part of his Christmas present yearbook entry In 1923 Commander Chester Condon presented Commandant Jameson Jumper With A Gold Crossbow bolt As A Gift For His Services To The Service On Shore Leave During World War II Commander Robert Ewing gave commandant Raymond Berry several cratescontaining nearly Fifty bottles Of Wine As A Gift From His Salesmanship Ability After years Of Service He Was Presenting These Items At A Gala To Celebrate Their Award From The Department October 5th 1969 During This Occasion There Were Over One Hundred And Forty Foundation Staff Members Attending There Were More Than Twenty Five Member agencies That Participated Including The National Aeronautics And Space Administration Which Gave Us Eight Silver cups Also We Gave Them Sixes Each For Our Officers And Some Other Awards We Have Received But I Cannot reproduce All Of Them Here

The first store in Corinth was built on what is now Main Street. In 1875, the town had a population of only 100 people and it had no school. However, in 1876, the first school opened in Corinth and it operated for one year. The first post office was established in Corinth in 1877 and it served as the town's main mail stop. In 1880, the first telephone line arrived in Corinth and it became a center for communication for the community. In 1908, Captain James Henson purchased land at what is now corner of Elm and Main Streets and he began to build a home there. After years of construction, Captain Henson's Home became known as "The Gables". After many years of growth and development within the community of Corinth, Texas, on November 3rd, 1921 an act were passed that designated the area around downtown as an "historic district." This designation allowed for more businesses to be developed within walking distance of classic historical resources such as churches or libraries that are important to local history. On November 3rd also occurred OPEC's debut when oil lamps were lit up throughout downtown Corinthians marking this event as well as other seminal moments in town’s recent history including its incorporation into Brazoria County on December 1st 1865 Today much like back then - Corinthians boasts tradition-rich institutions (e.g., Central High School), lively shops & restaurants (e.[g., Asphalt Cowboy BBQ], First National Bank), & engaging nightlife (Esquire Lounge). Downtown streetscape has evolved from slapped together concrete blocks with storefronts facing Elm Street all the way out to high end lofts overlooking Memorial Drive—a result of several decades worth of professional redevelopment spearheaded by city officials over grassroots citizen advocacy
The town of Corinth, Texas was founded in 1836 by the Texans who migrated from Louisiana. The original name for the town was Eudora. It changed to Corinth in 1851 when a post office was established in the town. The first school in Corinth was opened in 1837. A courthouse and jail were built in Corinth in 1840. The first railroad to come through Corinth was the Houston and Galveston Railroad in 1845. In 1865, a cotton gin and mill were built near the present day intersection of US 287 and FM 918.
