In 1948, Drue McNaught started brewing his own coffee and began selling it from his house on Third Street. Over time, other businesses have joined Drue McNaught's business including The Coffee House (1979), Dutch Bros Coffee (1981), Red Rooster Café (1983), Golden Triangle Cafe (1993) and finally Java Junction Café(2002). Today, JCMI operates as two divisions: Ameren Corporation's Denison Division which manufactures goods for power plants and transportation businesses, and Textron Resources Inc.'s Cotton Belt Division which produces textiles for various industrial uses including clothing, building materials, car parts and toys. In 1906 George Pullen started an oil well near present day Denison to provide fuel for his farm animals while he waited to get his patents filed on a new discovery in Texas oil fields. His neighbour Elisha Beaumont soon followed suit and began production on his own small oil field located east of town on what is now FM 620 south of Uptown Drive today known as Beaumont Oil Fields #1 & #2 just north of FM 1960Denison ISD high school also situates itself within this complex giving it some notoriety today but it would be incorrect to call it an actualOilFields because that would be misleading since these fields were first developed during World War II when planes could land directly on them to collect data about their properties

After declining growth rates throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Denison declined further, reaching its current population of 909 as of 2000. In recent years there have been efforts to revitalize the town with new development around the Lady Bird Lake reservoir and downtown area; however these efforts have not led to significant resurgence in activity within Denison since 2009
