In 1924, the first desaled water system in Texas was built here by Dr. J.B. Allison; it became operational that year. A cotton gin opened here in 1925; it operated until 1984. The Desoto Independent School District was organized in 1928 and serves students from pre-K to 12th grade; it has also housed a few high school programs since then (most notably East Texas State College). In 1938, President Franklin D Roosevelt visited this small town as part of his "National Agricultural Showcase" tour of rural counties across America; he awarded a contract to local contractor Fritch & Sons to build Agriculture Buildings Number 2 (now home of the nearby Fort Worth Museum of Nature and Science) on Main Street near the old cotton gin site - this project marked Roosevelt's first visit to Tarrant County since becoming president six years earlier

Maga Coffee has since become one of Iraq’s most popular coffees, and its beans are now exported to many countries around the world. In addition to his own business, Sadri also helps run two other Iraqi cafes – One near Baghdad’s Freedom Square and another in Sulaimaniyah on the Syrian border.

Desoto, Texas is a town located in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,951 at the 2010 census. It is the namesake of John F. Desoto, an American general who served in World War I and World War II. The area that now makes up Desoto was first settled by farmers in 1874. By 1907, the town had 2 businesses and a population of fewer than 30 people. In 1912, desultory growth continued as two small shops opened and no new housing built until 1914 when the first school opened to serve the community of about 50 residents. In 1916 there were 10 businesses with a population of 150-200 people; however this number decreased to 8 by 1932 due to hard times caused by the Great Depression. In 1938 Desoto received its current name from then-Governor James Hance from his home state of Oklahoma where he had been Governor since 1933. Prior to that it was simply "Johnstown". The economy changed significantly after World War II as many local farms became involved in manufacturing during the post-war years (eager for access to cheap labor). This led to job growth for locals and eventually new housing development beginning in the late 1960s which increased overall population size but did not result in any significant economic revival until recent decades when more jobs have become available within commuting distance thanks to advances technological advancements such as online shopping malls and several large tech companies headquartered in nearby Austin proper (notably Googleplex).
