The Air Force deployments in Dumas, Texas have a long and proud history. From World War II to the present day, the USAF has been stationed here in small numbers, but always contributing to our community. In 1941, the United States military deployed an air force squadron to Dumas as part of Operation Overlord. The squadron was equipped with P-47 Thunderbolt fighter planes and played a critical role in the Battle of Midway. The air force detachment also served as a training unit for new pilots. In 1952, the USAF deployed its first jet aircraft carrier group – USS Forrestal (CVA-6) – to Dumas for exercises led by Commander-in-Chief Europe Air Forces. At that time Dumas was home to one of only two nuclear bombing sites in America and it was used for testing of missiles from carriers located off shore. In 1990, USS Enterprise (CVN 76) returned to Dumas after serving as an aircraft carrier squadron during Desert Storm and supporting operations across Southwest Asia during Operation Enduring Freedom. Today USS Enterprise is again homeported at Naval Base Corpus Christi – making her the only ship ever assigned permanently to this facility! Dumas is also known for its agricultural production; cattle are raised here on many farms while corn is grown on large plantations near downtown. This farming tradition continues today with both local and national brands being soldhere including Tarrant County Corn Festival & Cattle Show, Hayride Cowboy Rendezvous & rodeo weekend each year; various craft shows throughout the year; and numerous patriotic events like Christmas tree lighting or Fourth of July fireworks displays!

On Dec. 4, the Texas Air National Guard's 133rd Airlift Wing activated at Dumas Municipal Airport after being inactivated at Amarillo AFP on Sept. 16. The wing is responsible for providing airlift and refueling to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) assets across the Lone Star State. The 133rd Airlift Wing was activated with World War II vintage bombers from the Consolidated B-24 Liberator Bomber Force and flew missions over Europe during the war. After the war, the wing converted to Boeing 727s and became operational as a civilian airlift service provider for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Today, the 133rd Airlift Wing provides global airport consolidation services with Boeing 747-400 jetliners and Douglas DC-9 aircraft while flying more than 2,000 hours per year including 210 international flights. In addition, the 137th Airlift Squadron provides ground support via helicopter to include response to natural disasters such as Hurricanes Harvey and Irma; disaster relief efforts such as those associated with earthquakes; or military briefings or ceremonial events such as Bastille Day parades or Independence Day celebrations.
Dumas, Texas is a small town located in the Hill Country of Texas. It is bordered by Lavaca County to the south, Starr County to the east, and Nolan County to the north. The population was 1,059 as of the 2010 census. Dumas is named for General Lafayette, who fought in the French and Indian War and later served as Commandant of Fort Donelson in Tennessee. The community was founded in 1878 by John A. Dumas and his wife Eliza Jane Carpenter Dumas. Dumas was first settled by Anglo-Saxon settlers from eastern England who arrived during the late 18th century. The area that now makes up Dumas belonged to Mexico before it became part ofTexas on January 6, 1836, following Mexican independence from Spain. On December 15, 1850, General Sam Houston successfully opposed an attempt by Mexican forces commanded by Antonio López de Santa Anna to annex East Texas into Mexico under a treaty known as “The Alamo Treaty” In 1858–59 General Sam Houston defeated Mexican troops at San Jacinto which signified Texans' claim to all of West Texas including what is now Dumas County On October 25th 1870 US Army Colonel James Fenton attacked a peaceful meeting between Anglo-Mexican traders at Tomlinson Ranch near present day Midway City (now Midway Airport) when some 10 Mexicans were killed including two Ulysses S Grant’s cousins Manuel Nieto and José Gomez Fenton believed that he had killed innocent civilians intending only to stop violence among rival groups vying for control over new land west of Austin In 1871–72 George Brazos led an army campaign against Comanche Indians east of Grantsville which resulted in their defeat at Deer Park Creek Bridge near present day Midway City In 1875 cattle drives started up Highway 95 from Brownsville bringing white men prospecting for oil along what would become Known as the Red River Plain

These planes were donated by Boeing after their former owner Northrop Grumman lost its bid for a contract to build 36 Next Generation E3A Joint Strike Fighters (JSF). The jets were used for flying training units from bases around the country and served as symbols of USAF readiness and modernization initiatives that remain important today.

Dumas is a small town located in Medina County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,024 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Dumas was founded in 1881 by Jehan Girod and his wife Marie-Jacques Bourque as a farming community known as Coteaux du Lac. The name derived from a stream that ran through the community. In 1907, Dumas became an incorporated municipality and in 1930 it became a county seat. The city of Dumas was founded on November 10, 1904 by Ole Olsen and Alfred Peterson as a result of the land grant they received from President Theodore Roosevelt for their service during World War I. On December 6, 1905, Olsen donated 2,000 acres (8 km2) to Dumas as its home base with plans to create an agricultural colony. However, little progress was made until 1912 when local businessmen Jens Christiansen and John Wolkentin pooled their resources to open what would become one of the largest cotton plantations in Texas history with over 1 million bales (100 metric tons) produced that year alone. The success of this venture led to other investments including the purchase of additional land in 1916 which would produce even more crops and contribute to Dumas' burgeoning economy. In 1918 tensions between America's two major world warring powers caused American troops stationed at Fort Sam Houston near downtown Dallas to riot; this event is generally considered to be the beginning of Dallas's social unrest which continues up through today albeit with various forms of protestation or counterdemonstrations throughout DowntownDallas
