Since the early 1900s, Flower Mound, Texas has been a center for the coast guard. Today, the Coast Guard operates two primary stations in town- one on Main Street and one on US 90. The Station on US 90 is home to the largest collection of Coast Guard memorabilia in Texas. The Station also offers educational programs and events related to maritime law and ethics. In 1912, a group of businessmen from Flower Mound pooled their money to establish the Flower Mound Harbor Association. This association was responsible for building and maintaining flower market docks located at present day Washburn Avenue and Elm Street in downtown Flower Mound. In 1914, the City of Flower Mound passed an ordinance establishing a Police Department which would later become known as the Flowersmound Police Department. The initial police force consisted of five officers- three men and two women. In 1916, Mayor John Withers approved cityhood for Flower Mound with plans to move all government services from Dallas to Flower MOUND. On January 1st 1917, city officials renamed Vine Street “Mudie” street in honor of then Mayor Mudie Coleman who had helped support cityhood efforts. The first station established by the Coast Guard in town was built on Main Street in 1927 when Captain Frank Epps became commandant of station #2C1A1D3W4R1H1T3S2L1G (later renamed #2C1A9D3W4R). At this location there were only four patrolmen assigned to each shift plus an officer/watchman who coordinated patrols with other agencies such as DPS (Dallas PD) during night hours when Dallas was closed down for military exercises or other events. Patrol cars were not available until 1951 when a new garage was constructed next door at #2C11Q8V5N6P which housed both patrol cars and office space used by Commandant Epps as well as his adjutants (assistant commanders). In 1937 Captains Harry Burnett (#2C10K8J6W), Floyd Ellison (#2C9X7U6V5) & Roy Duncan (#2C8E6F7N4) replaced Captains Harry Burnett & Floyd Ellison due to death or retirement respectively; these 3 captains led coastal security patrols out into Gulf Stream waters daily during 1936 hurricane season; captain Harry Burnett is buried at Arlington National Cemetery along side his co-pilot Floyd Ellison

Flowers donated the land for it on which the present station stands today. In 1951, Petty Officer First Class Don Easley became responsible for gifting Gifts from the Heart program at Station Flower Mound. From then on, Petty Officer First Class Easley has been responsible for all gifting activities at Station Flower Mound with help from many different members of the community who have contributed over the years!
Formal Flower Mound, Texas is a small town located in the panhandle of Texas. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wichita Falls, TX-OK Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1887 by John Ladd and his family as a mail stop on the Chisholm Trail between Wichita Falls and Fort Worth. The community grew rapidly due to its proximity to railroad yards and oil wells, but it struggled during the Great Depression. In 1933, local farmers banded together to create a municipal government, which led to increased economic opportunities for the town. After World War II, local industry declined and Flower Mound lost much of its population growth; however, it has seen recent revitalization thanks to new businesses and growth in residential development around highway 10 west of town. Flower Mound's history can be traced back to 1887 when John Ladd established himself as a trader along what is now Highway 10 near present-day Flower Mound. He sold goods from his wagon train across country variously stretching from Kansas all the way down through Mexico into New Mexico before finally settling in this area in 1881 after major trading trips with his father-in-law--John Witherspoon--to purchase land grants in what is now eastern Wichita County (now Johnson County). Over time Ladd developed an extensive commercial empire that spanned most of what are now eastern Wichita County as well as parts of Tom Green County east of Wichita Falls proper (now Kiowa County) and southern Indianola County (now Hidalgo County). By 1886 he had built up one or more stores hereabouts each day selling goods ranging from groceries to hardware and seeds; some homes did not have running water until 1895! early residents hereabouts were mostly farmers who grew crops such as corn, beans, cottonseed oil cake/flour,, potatoes etc.; there also were several cattlemen who raised Hereford cattle feeder miles north on prairies near present day Midland City Limits; these activities continued even into WWI & WWII years when many men served our Armed Forces overseas...Today we still enjoy many cultural amenities typical of frontier towns like rodeo performances outdoors on weekends by talented cowboys/girls called "Rodeo Cowboys"&4 times per year Frontier Folklorists come thru town playing traditional music - bluegrass etc.; flower shows during late summer months usually held at old high school auditorium downtown; homebuilders have announced plans for over 100 residences units just outside city limits since 2007!

Gift giving resumed after World War II as soldiers returned home with new families – wives were now able to provide much-neededugal material that was often shared between husbands (or fathers) and young children on Christmas morning when mommas brought them presents from Dad! At first it was just individual sailor comrades who gave back - but eventually more formalized programs were formed which allowed enlisted personnel “to give back” as well (eastern seaboard ports included!). gifting slowly morphed into something that encompassed not just personal items but a whole range ofier gifts including clothing, recreational equipment/ toys & vehicles... everything from household appliances allthe way up to custom designed boats! The Flower Mound community in central Texas developed in the early 1800s as a result of the efforts of settlers who were looking for new land to farm. The area that is now Flower Mound was first settled by French Canadians in the late 18th century and became part of Mexico after its independence from Spain. The United States acquiredtxa portion of Mexico in 1848, and American settlers began to arrive in large numbers in what is now central Texas. One of these newcomers, James K. Polk, made a significant contribution to the development of the Flower Mound community when he donated land to make it a town. The town was founded on May 26, 1850, and quickly became one of the most important agricultural communities in central Texas. In addition to its role as an agricultural center, Flower Mound also played an important role during the Mexican-American War (1846-1848). Because it was located near military posts manned by American forces, Flower Mound served as a base for war efforts by both sides. As a result, the town experienced heavy fighting throughout its history and many people died or were wounded during hostilities. Aftermath of the Mexican-American War Although few casualties resulted from skirmishes between American troops and Mexican militiamen living near Fort Sam Houston (now San Antonio), some civilians did suffer serious injuries or losses due to artillery fire from Spanish fortifications on nearby Hill 758. As a result, reconstruction following Reconstruction Era policies aimed at restoring order across America required effort not only inside Mexico but also within Central America where much violence had been unleashed following years of civil unrest. In typical fashion for such endeavors, Reconstruction authorities issued decrees prohibiting any further immigration into California except under specific circumstances; this led to increased demand for labor among farmers throughout California while minimizing opportunities for African Americans who had contributed materially little to Anglo-Saxon society since their enslavement began more than two centuries earlier. Although some black immigrants did manageto find workin agriculture or construction during Reconstruction Period settlements such as Garden City (New York) and Chicago (IL), they typically found better paying jobs outside those areas due chiefly to restrictions on white migration that continued until well into the 21st century. However, given that many African Americans had borne significant economic burdens within white society through bondage before emancipation even took place – including women – there remains irony about laws barring them entry into white societies despite their legal right thereto
