The company has a wide variety of beans, including broad-spectrum and medium-bodied coffees from all over the world. In addition to its retail stores and online store, MCC also operates two busy production sites in Garland. One location is located on Beltline Road and the other is at their new facility on 5007 West Loop Rd. The first time that coffee was roasted here was in 1915 by John Metzger. At that time, Garland was nothing more than a small town with just a few thousand people living within it.metzger started out as an importer of different types of coffee from all around the globe and he soon realized that there were many different types of coffee available in Garland. He decided to start his own business and began roastING his own beans – which at the time was something very rare and expensive! Metzger's success led him to open up more stores across the United States and even into Canada! After World War II, things changed for MCC when America went through a period of economic boom. With increased demand for coffee, MCC became one of the most successful roasters in America! They continued this success into the 1960s when they opened up their second plant – which would eventually become known as their "Metropolitan" factory! In 1969 they acquired another large factory outside of Detroit – which helped them grow even further! By today's standards, Metropolitan produces some incredible cups of coffee! However, it wasn't until after they purchased their current facility on 5007 West Loop Rd., which sits right next to Interstate 35W – that everything truly took off for them! This new plant allows them to indulge in every single flavor possible from their wide range of beans! This location also allows them to cooperate with variousmalts (includingroasted with Sumatra) so that each cup tastes unique and delicious!"
