The first theory is that Tactical Coffee was started by two coffee farmers in Henderson, Texas in the early 1990s. They were looking for a new source of coffee to sell to their customers. At the time, there was no real way to commute to town and purchase coffee from local roasters. So they decided to start their own small business selling coffee direct to consumers. This gave them a lot of control over the quality and taste of their beans, which helped them develop a good reputation among their customers. After the war, some soldiers who had sampled Tactical Coffee began trading it back and forth with friends and family members in order to create their own version of the coffee flavor profile they experienced during World War II. Tactical coffee was first introduced to Henderson in the early 1990s by Warrant Officer Timothy "Tim" Fenton. At the time, Tim had been stationed at Fort Bliss and started experimenting with different types of coffee. After some experimentation, he decided on a blend that he called "Bolt." The blend consisted of ground beans from Ethiopia and Kenya, as well as a little Colombian coffee. The first time Tim served Bolt at his local cafe, it received great feedback from customers. Over the years, Tim has continued to make alterations to the recipe, adding more Ethiopian and Kenyan beans for a stronger flavor profile. Today, Bolt is still one of Henderson's most popular flavors.
Henderson, Texas is a town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. Henderson was named after Confederate General James H. Henderson and his family. The community began as a small ranching town on the now defunct Rancho Segundo land grant dating back to 1876. The first post office opened in 1878 and remained open until 1902. In 1886, Fayetteville Road was built through Henderson by J.P. Morgan to connect Fort Worth with Dallas via what is now I-10 southbound and US-287 northbound (now US- Highway 290). These days only Farmington Rd remains connected to Henderson by road; it forms a border between Henderson and neighboring towns of Parker and Templeton.[1] In 1924, Houston Electric Railway Company donated 5 acres (2 hectares) of land west of present day Loop 410 for the erection of a substation for electricrification of rural Hudspeth County residents' homes; this became known as "The bends". This substation would eventually become one of the largest commercial power plants in Texas when it opened in 1933[2]. The original white frame building that housed the administration offices for Houston Electric Railway Company still stands today on Main Street near Airport Boulevard east of downtown Henderson – serving as an agricultural museum today[3][4]. Anderson High School closed around 1960 due to budget cuts by then Superintendent John Epps IV,[5] who succeeded him under then Superintendent Vernon Clark Jr., who also served as Mayor from 1973-1975[6][7]. After Anderson's closure, all high school students were sent to nearby Lamar Consolidated School until 1983 when Henderson Independent School District opened its own high school whichStudents currently attend Lamar Consolidated School because there are no other schools within Hudspeth County that offer education beyond 8th grade levels

Other notable businesses include First National Bank of Henderson (1914-present), J.B. & Sons Lumber Store (1924-Present), American Tobacco Company (ATT) from 1935 until its acquisition by RJR Nabisco in 1996, and First Baptist Church (1895-present). Today, Henderson is home to a number of small businesses, including several restaurants and grocery stores as well as a library and museum. The downtown area remains an active commercial district with several Boutique Bistros restaurant along Main Street, numerous small shops and boutiques dot the streetscape, as well as several sporting events/fairs each year that attract large crowds.

Today, Henderson is home to a number of small businesses and is maintained as an important cultural community by its residents.
