Hutto is a small town in Texas that was founded in 1872. The population of Hutto was 2,859 as of the 2010 census. It falls within the Waller County seat of Fort Worth and is known for its natural resources, including oil and gas drilling rigs, farming and ranching operations, and the Hutto High School football team. The town was named after Colonel John S. Hutto, a volunteer soldier who fought in the Mexican-American War and later served as governor of Texas. In 1872, Colonel Hutto donated land to build a school in Hutto. The first school building was completed in 1875 and became known as the Huttor School House. By 1880, there were about sixty students enrolled at the school. In 1905, General Pershing renamed Hutto "Hutchinson" after Maj.-Gen James M. Hutchison Jr., commander of American forces during World War I. Hutchinson played an important role in developing Texan oil reserves and helped make Texas one of the leading petroleum producers in America. He also served as president pro tempore of the Texas Senate from 1921 to 1923 and chairman of the state Democratic party from 1924 to 1927. In 1932, President Herbert Hoover designated Hutchison Park on Clear Fork Lake as part of National Memorial Park USA because he had been instrumental in helping preserve this area for future generations through his planning work with then-Texas Governor Sam Rayburn during Hoover's term as president

Olympic Café – This café located at Olympic Stadium in London was known for its excellent roasts and unique sandwiches. It closed down in 2003 after allegations emerged that it was providing unfair competition to rival chains such as Subway.

Hutto is located in Webb County, Texas, about thirty miles south of Dallas and twenty-five miles east of Austin. The population at the 2010 census was 14,502. The town was named for General Early Hutto, one of the first white men to arrive in Texas in 1836. The first European settlers arrived in what is now Hutto in 1836. They were led by Colonel James K. Polk and Captain George Bird Wright. In 1840, a group of Texans from Missouri discovered oil fields near present-day Hutto and began exploration. By 1846, they had developed a well on the banks of the Trinity River which allowed them to sell oil to other companies. The town started as a boomtown because of this new industry but quickly declined because it was out of reach for most people. In the early 1900s, more people started arriving to Hutto because it became known as a railway junction for travel around central Texas. However, this also caused its decline as many people left for better opportunities elsewhere during that time period. In 1925, the first post office opened in Hutto and continued operating until it closed in 1961. The original name for Hutton was Haughton after Colonel John Haughton who surveyed the area for an railroad company in 1847-48 according to oral history interviews conducted by Pascagoula County Historical Society curator Drayton Dardenne when he visited Hutto last year (2013). After some deliberations among local residents huehutoniiniili (“the lot”), “hutta” (rialtyer), or “hogtown” were chosen as alternate names while still others offered suggestions such as Tryonville or Eudora respectively before settling on "Hutto" which became official on November 3rd 1865 when Congressman James Ladd submitted a bill entitled "An Act To Establish A Post Office At Kuttoo And To Designate This Place As The Town Of huttto". Famous citizens associated with Hutto include Judge Roy Bean who served on the Travis County District Court from 1951-1957; actress Sandra Dee; author Loren Setterfield; singer Ronnie Milsap; Governor Rick Perry; journalist Jeff Bezos; entrepreneur Elon Musk and current Mayor Steve Adler .
Hutto is located in the far northwest corner of Texas, about 25 miles from Amarillo and 100 miles from Wichita Falls. It was founded by J.D. Hutto in 1879 as a ranching community on the Red River. The town grew rapidly during the 1880s and 90s, thanks to its location near the railroads and cattle drives that connected the eastern United States with Mexico and Central America. Hutto became a city in 1907 when it was annexed by Amarillo.
