The National Guard in Kyle, Texas has been working to keep the community safe since before there were any state guard units in the area. The unit was formed on September 1, 1938 when representatives from the towns of Kyle and Deer Park met to discuss forming a local militia. This was not the first time that the National Guard had been called out in Kyle; earlier that year, members of the military responded to a natural disaster. The first event that is commonly cited as being related to the formation of the National Guard in Kyle was World War II. On November 8, 1944, soldiers from Texas A&M University’s 5th Infantry Regiment arrived in town for training. At this point, Kyle had already been through a lot of hard times – it had been under Japanese occupation during World War II and then again during The Korean War. After WWII ended, Kyle began to rebuild and grow. In 1955, citizens voted to create their own police department and on July 1st of that year, TheKyle Police Department became operational. This was only one step towards making sure that everyone inKyle felt safe and protected – later that year, City Council decided to establish a city guard unit which would become part of the national guard if needed. In 1958, Mayor John Greeson appointed Armando Moreno as commander of District 3 (which included parts of what is todayKyle). Moreno served until 1987 when he resigned because he did not support Reaganomics. George Woirish took his place until 1992 when he also resigned due to differences with Governor Rick Perry over social issues such as bilingual education for Latinos in addition to law enforcement reform within the city guard unit itself - Woirish's successor is currently Colonel Jeffery Ladd who served from April 2014 through February 2017

Kyle, Texas is a small town located in Williamson County, Texas. The population was 7,824 at the 2010 census. Kyle is home to Mount Carmel Baptist Church and the Williamson County Sheriff's department. The primary industry in Kyle is agriculture with cattle and hog production being the most common forms of employment. The townsite was founded by William Petty in 1872 as a ranch on an upland area near present-day Kyle. The town name derives from "Kyle," a Shawnee word meaning "place where woodcutting animals are kept." In 1903, Mrs. Petty donated 2,500 acres of land to the town for school and civic purposes; this donation has been used for various purposes including city hall and the library. In 1948, when Williamson County was created from portions of Cameron County, Kyle became one of its initial municipalities. It remained an unincorporated community until 1971 when it became part of the new county seat of Williamsonville. At that time it became one of the few communities within Williamsonville to receive city services such as water or waste jurisdiction (the other two were Woodville and Parshall). In 1984, Kyle annexed neighboring Parshall after that community voted not to secede from Williamsonville over issues with annexation procedures
